Hi all just joined and have ideas.
Building a Tallarn army which has ab-human volunteers (natives) as part of their contingent. At the moment have only painted one & unfinished as still deciding on iconography for shoulders. I will eventually have 2x50 of these conscripts to fight alongside (screen) my first 2 platoons.
Here are some pics:
The conversion is very simple:
1. fill bowl at top of skaven legs with green-stuff and level off,
2. attach guard torso, this will not look right as there is a mismatch in the diameters at the waists.
3. roll a thin sausage of green-stuff & wrap around waist under the guard torso, marry the pieces together by sculpting the stuff 'cloth style'.
4. Attach to base add pre-painted tail.
5. Add head that needs raising with a small ball of green stuff which you can sculpt as fur or a scarf. Paint now
6. Finally paint arms and weapons add to model, tidy paint apply washes and dry brush where desired.
Sergeant with Las-pistol (simple weapon swap, I found it easier to replace the weapon rather than the hand with the weapon in it):
Flamer, again using Cadian kit, replace the cloth wrapped gun barrel with the nozzle end of a flamer. Fuel line needs very little modification to make fit:
Vox Use the las-gun armed trooper variant shown as it has a fairly clean back. Clean it & add Vox, Catachan variant looks better than the Cadian one shown:
Standards & Banners. Two methods shown right has hand drilled through (tricky) and standard with hand cleaned off inserted (this weakens the pole). Preferably use second method left; remove fore arm from figure and replace with severed fore arm from Cadian standard bearer, easier & stronger than right method.
Will later include heavy flamer, Medic, Snipper, Shotgun Vets, Carapace armour and more experimental ideas.
Species out.
