The lasgun on bottom, it does nothing. Maybe I could say it sets the ground on fire to create a smokescreen Lasguns aren't that powerful. Aside from the fact they'd give most tournament goers conniptions, those sentenals are bad-A$$, Almost as cool themselves as Clever Girl's pose.

Lasguns can sever limbs and stuff, so yeah they're plenty strong to deal with some foliage, they're just not that great compared to exploding miniature rockets, warp-fueled satancannons or planet-cracking torpedoes. But hey, at least we can have a LOT of lasguns to make up for it.

I'm sticking together the last one now. I want to use the nice missile launcher you get with the sentinel kit as a counts-as smoke launcher, but apparently CERTAIN PEOPLE are a bit anal about WYSIWYG and I got a little pepper for it on my other two conversions. As long as it's obviously not the main weapon system (if you saw it, you could easily tell), it should be alright, am I correct?

You should wait to add static grass, it'll look less like vomited salad Love what you've done though, he looks epic! "Into the breach!"

It looks a little better now that the PVA has dried, but I'm terrible at basing. I also screwed up the belt, hands and front of the plasma pistol, but it's ok. It was kind of an experiment anyway, and aside from those things it turned out pretty good. It's the first character I've painted since I picked the hobby back up again.
I also picked up one of the old Dark Eldar Raiders for cheap, along with some new paints I needed, but the stroe didn't have black spraycoat. I'm going to paint 5 Firewarriors and a Crisis suit for a friend, and 5 Terminators + some Genestealers for another friend (he likes Space Hulk).
I also want to get the Cadian Lieutenant with the powerfist and laspistol. That's probably my favorite, but I would have to order him directly from the depths of hell itself... that is to say, the GW online store, ew.

Thanks, though I'm not the only one with purple guard.
I ordered some OOP metal figures from GW to act as commissars and officers.
Officers: Steel Legion Officer with Power Sword and Bolt Pistol Cadian Officers with Power Fists
Commissars: Steel Legion Commissar Commissar with Bolt Pistol Mordian Officer Valhallan Officer with Pistol

My mofficers arrived, I should be able to pick them up at he postal office come monday. I still need to get more black primer, though. My last armored sentinel is mostly done, I just feel it's missing something here and there.

Here we go, quadruple posting hardcore-style. The camera decided to use indoor settings so the pictures are all blue, I'll get some better ones once I recharge it. You still get the idea, though. I have to ask, am I the only one that sees Wall-E driving an armoured sentinel?

The lenses and stuff I stuck inside it? No, it's from the Aegis Defence Line kit, but I think it comes with a bunch of vehicles too, including the land raider kit and probably the vindicator as well.
I got my black sprays and stuff but it's been raining a lot recently so I haven't really been able to do much. I could use the garage, which is fairly big, but I don't want to risk messing up any of the cars.

I like them, though I feel the missile on top the dual AC sentinel, and the AC below the dual missile sentinel, are a bit silly-looking. Otherwise, fantastic conversions.

The indoor settings on the camera makes it look as though the lighting on their planet makes the purple a decent colour choice for camouflage.

Looks good, just a few things that bugs me on the sentinels. First the HKMs look very odd and rather "stuck on" if you get what I mean. Also the lasgun just looks weird and out of place. You wouldn't want one on your sentinel, you don't need one on your sentinel and last (and also least) you can't have one on your sentinel. How do you fire it? What happens if it gets stuck in the underbrush or gucked up with mud when you wade through the under-growth? Hod do you reload it? Last, the gunshield on the Autocannons are rather pointless. The purpose of them is to protect whatever's behind them. There's nothing behind them so there's no use putting having them. As it is now they just add extra weight and things that compromise cover and that can get stuck in the terrain.

The gunshield on the Autocannons are right in front of the ammo cylinders, which probably don't want to be shot all that much.

The gunshield on the Autocannons are right in front of the ammo cylinders, which probably don't want to be shot all that much. Which means you would armour the cylinders, not put a pointless slab of metal that only protects from one side in front of it. Also, generally not a problem. If the enemy is close enough to target your ammo both you and they have bigger problems. Gunshields protect the crew and in many cases aren't even needed. Just do a google for pom-poms or Bofors AA guns and you'll see what I mean.

Ok, at first I found the sentinels abit wacky and bogus but then when I saw the way you've managed to handle such cohesion between Cadian and Steel Legion and the whole Ordo Hetericus, mysterious and menacing cross of purple and orange I can't help but recommend this force as one of the forum's coolest.
How did you achieve the watered down purple effect on your sentinels ?Some kind of drybush technique I have not yet mastered..
