It was quite easy really, I just spraypaint black, drybrush and cover most of it in hormagaunt purple, clean up the black bits and finally lightly drybrush over fortress grey before adding details. It's really easy to do, I have a third sentinel like them which is just missing leg assembly. I suddenly got a lot of work dropped on me recently though so I haven't had the energy to really get started again, just sat down and tinkered a little with a few minor things.
These sentinels are mainly intended to give cover for the troops, the story behind them is basically that their home planet has seen so much of its industry decimated that a lot of their equipment is souped up by private entrepeneurs not following imperial standards, meaning their military units have a fairly random look to them but still unified through the color scheme and a coherent underlying theme, "techy variation".

The shields, btw, are purely ornamental, the underslung lasgun is a counts-as smoke-launcher, and the only HK i didn't like was the one on top of the dual AC sentinel. Here are some pictures too, the first of my much-awaited (yeah right) third armored sentinel, and the second of some older guardsmen which are quite irrelevant to anything I'm doing now. Picture quality isn't the best either, but it's something.

Dude sell the cadian and go PURE steel legion, you paint them better and they fit in better with your theme. The cadian pale in comparison to your steel legion mate seriosuly

steel legionnaires are cool but the models have less variety and aren't as easy to modify and convert
i might get some vostroyans, though, to spice it up a little
also those 4 models there are many years old, i just took a picture for fun

I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but the last one is just stupid from a design point of view. Except for the obvious HUGE blind spot to the left of the driver you would also kill him with the back blast from the missile firing. All the energy and exhaust fumes will be directed straight into the driver's cabin. Ouch!
The dual AC looks wicked though! I like!

Well it is in a launcher, so the logical thing would be that the launcher has a exhaust at the back of the sent.

Even so, the exhaust would go through the front hatch...
But it's just me being overly realistic. Ol' habit from my days in green...
Side not, I just noticed that the Inq is holding a shovel. Awesome! "There are two kinds of people my friend..." B)
