Pics from BoLS from UK Games Day of the new Imperial Lightning II. I've always hated the original Lightning kit, but this new one looks pretty awesome IMO... *Squees*

This, I do like this. * * * * * But that's pathetic. The tracks, the turret, the proportions, the curves, sweet Emperor, what is this monster? This is why Space Marines shouldn't get nice things! * * * * * I do like those.

I don't like any of it, The space Marine super heavy looks really odd and a new rhino and Land Raider (BORING!) I don't like air craft either.... I'm in a happy mood.

A new rhino and Land Raider (BORING!). Major Downer Well to be fair, those ones aren't exactly new. Just the ones in the Marine range I prefer.

That World Eaters tank is just a spacemarinified version of the baneblade, as far as I can tell.
Also, I can't even tell the difference between this land raider and a 40k land raider.

Also, I can't even tell the difference between this land raider and a 40k land raider. The Sponsons and the Heavy Bolter emplacement are different. The Sponsons on a regular Land Raider look more like the ones on the Super Heavy, held out away from the body of the Tank, rather than being an extension of it, and the Lascannon are usually side-by-side rather than stacked. Similarly, the Heavy Bolters on a standard Land Raider are in a sort of remote-controlled turret, while these are solidly dug into the structure of the Tank.

I'm not into the downwards wings..... I think with a bit of sawing/filing and perhaps some pinning and GS the downwards wings could be made level. Still, it's a vast improvement over the original sculpt.

Yet it still looks like it's going backwards. Silly marines.

I prefer the old Lightning to be honest, but this one is still sweet. I wonder what the official rules for Angron are

Angron's Rules are pretty simple. All Models in Base Contact with him die at I8.

The space marine super heavy looks like a cross between the original predator design and the original landraider, plus a baneblade. I like it.

Yet it still looks like it's going backwards. Silly marines. You know I just realized that. Their tracks are in the complete opposite direction as say for example the Leman Russ.

what gets me about the old school land raider tracks is that the tank effectivly runs on the track links which stick up which to be honest is completly the opposite to the conventional track design which 1) spreads weight through the whole track and 2 those knobles would just get bogged down on soft surfaces reducing the tanks speed. What i would give for a spare set of baneblade track sprues with that kit lol

But that's pathetic. The tracks, the turret, the proportions, the curves, sweet Emperor, what is this monster? 1. Wait....are you complaining about....it having....SLOPED...armour? *Goes looking for his heavy stubber.* 2. The turret proportion is fairly reminiscent of a T-54. It just needs a smaller gun - a single baneblade cannon would be better.

tracks too exposed and yeah the guns seem too big for such a small turret. no space for the marines!

Sweet. Ironically a fw super heavy is about the same price now as it was about 5 years ago. My Mars pattern baneblade was £150 way back then..
Although I confess the old power armour designs fascinate me more. For some reason I just love Mark V Heresy armour.

The Autocannon are the only thing that really tempts me in this lot. I think I have enough converted up or on the way to resist for now, tho.

Autocannon are sweet, heavy bolters are ugly. I'm resisting buying any of the Heresy stuff, so I'll try to give this a miss. Nice, though...
