I ordered my copy on saturday. If things go as they should i'll get it on the 3rd at my house. My half sister was pissed the other day and was trying to find a way to get me to not play it ranging from canceling the order (which is limited time) to not taking me to GW. Of course it is getting sent to my house in the order. Funny thing is she wanted to cancel the order and i told her that she couldn't because the order i placed had me signed into my account which she doesn't know the email address or password to. Sorry i was having extreme family issues yesterday with my half sister. Sure i was a bit cranky but she was really bitchy.
Sounds like fun you guys. I wish i could play it with some of you. However the main misfortune of having an actual physical game is that you can't play it online or at least not easily. So it sucks that we can all write to each other online but can't play that game with each other. If only most of the IGMB members could actually meet up in real life.
You mean if one of us was a super rich playboy like batman and also possibly was batman? Well maybe req or ymmot could do it. If anybody on this forum could do that it would be them as req uses his chivalry and frenchness to fence and ymmot is crazy enough. I suppose rook would be strong enough though.
If my copy of Dreadfleet works out then I'll try and bring it with me. I also promise that if I become a millionaire playboy that I'll use my wealth to host international meet ups rather than fighting crime as Insert-animal-here-man.
"True, true. These are rather dark times. How fortunate for me, then, that cats can see in the dark."
Dude as far as painting goes i feel like i'm one of the worst on the forum. I hate painting. I love my painting color schemes but i can't paint worth nuts. It takes so long too and i get a usually mild response from people at my painting skill which just female dog slaps my effort in the face. Ugh if i had a decent amount of money from a job i'd get a book to teach me how to paint better and do shading, highlighting and light effects.
I wonder if i should've gotten dread fleet now. It's a game in a box but for the same price i could've gotten 'space marine' and a box of stormvermin. I'm planning to get a bunch of stormvermin for fantasy (i need 40 more at least) and then i'll add queek and upgrade them to WS 5 and str 5 or add a screaming bell to them and give them death frenzy in either case. In one case i get lots of str 5 attacks with a leader that has many attacks going through armor. In the other i have a screaming bell making them unbreakable, giving them boosts to a lot of things and having a lot of magic. In both cases they're going to have death frenzy.
Anyway i can hold out for fantasy for a while i guess. I suppose dreadfleet will still be a lot of fun. Every ship has special abilities and there are plenty of interesting cards to draw. It's less about army composition and more about skill, positioning and luck how i see it. Hopefully one side or unit isn't overly powerful. As long as both sides are fairly balanced i don't care though. Might have to find out what each does before the game. Some effects are fairly obvious but others aren't. I think you can board the ghost ship just fine or ram it but broadsides effect it less. Personally i'd try boarding it. I don't know why i just think it'd be a good idea for some reason. As long as the crew dies normally and it's just the ship that's hard to kill.

I played some dreadfleet the other day. It was really fun. In my into game it was me as the swordfish against the black kraken. I basically pulled infront of it, fired a broadside and sunk it in one volley.
I also had a 3v3 game. We managed to slaughter the enemy. I was the super evil vampire ship, and tanked the super human ship until my allies ate their fleet. I then opened up and sunk the last ship.
Well i know it's a bit late to talk about this and tell everybody else but i got dreadfleet not long after i wanted it. Turns out it was sent to my old address and i had to fix it up and send it to my current one. Then in all that time i assembled the whole thing but have yet to play a game. Pretty ridiculous i worked and put so much effort in this only to not care. I suppose i'll play a game when i have the time. School is really messing with my funds.
