Apparently, according to BoLS, we may be getting a 3 kit release in early 2012.. .. The Hydra, The Medusa/ Colossus/Griffon and a veteran/ stormtrooper kit. www.lounge.belloflostsouls.net/showthread.php?t=17433What no rough riders? I'd still buy that! Edit - Sorry. It's originally from Warseer..

For some reason it seems strange for me that the Hydra will be a single kit.. There ofcause isn't any "spare" tank it can be fielded as, but GW tends to try and fit more than one kit/loads into their IG line.. Plastic vet banana booster rumble upgrade pack + ST's are great, if nothing els then for modeling purpose.. Not sure i'll buy the "Arty-pack" since i allready have enough of those from FW.. But hey, i've been proven wrong before.. Rough riders in their current incarnation as Mongolian riders they can keep, they don't fit the IG theme in my book.. To fix them they should make them a fast troop choice (12" move, fleet but not with the 12" charge from being Cav) with the same loadout options as veterans (3 x special weapons, laspistols and CC weapons and boost the price tag to 120 points for 10 guys) and then make the Hunting lances a "Doctrine" they could take just like demolitions.. Back to the rumors.. The person who "leaked" this (Stickmonkey) tends to be pretty good with his sources, so we might actually see the veteran/ST kit this time and not like in 2010 when the picture of the GS'd Vet went around first time.. (TMK) EDIT: Ahh they put up the source on Bols too, even better..

As I said when this was posted in another thread, I'll remain Scooby-Dubious of this until I see it with my own eyes. These rumors have been floating around since before the new codex, so I'll take them with a pillar of salt for now.

Heh, I could go for the Medusa/Colossus. Of course the vets and stormies are announced after I've gone through the trouble to convert some myself...

That might be good for me. I've not done Stormtroopers yet and I only have one squad of vets. I'd also like some Griffons and Hydras. Looks like I'll be putting some money aside for early 2012 and of course if it doesn't pan out I'll just be like "Oh no! GW tricked me into saving money!"

I hope they do hydras, but i don't really care about the vets. I really like the fact that everyone has to do their own interpretation of them.

The stormie / vet kit will probably be £25 / 10 models, not £18 like the older kits... Still that's the price we pay for the extra shotgun arms and no doubt there will be lots of heads. In fact - if they do arbitrator heads, then you've got adeptus arbites, vets and stormies all in one box..

Hope we get plastic stormies, although I would much rather other guard armys in plastic like the Mordiens etc...
On a armour note: we need more tank options. Can't have enough tanks...

Yeah, but then the Necrons and Tau would moan at how the guard get everything. Tau should get squadrons of Robin Reliants, armed with burst cannon. They could zoom aroound the table, a bit like Ork buggies....

Yours will still probably be better, becuase you know they're not going to bother doing a Catachan version. This is probably true. However, the kit may contain some bitz that would have been useful to incorporate into what I'm now building. Of course, now that we've said this, GW will surprise us and do Catachan vets as well...

I doubt catachan vets will be in the box. Most catachan vets these days are probably conversions, no carapace, with Harker (he can't have 'pace, anyway).

I already got two squads of die-cast Stormies and I think a plastic version would be interesting (if not easier to paint) than what I already have. Until recently I thought there were already Vet squads out there that you had to buy, I found out later though and hopefuly none too soon, I would have hated to find out I could just simply turn a guardsman squad into a vet squad then look around and see all these new Vet squads from their fancy boxes unless however you could still use regular guardsmen as vets ...

If the vets are the same as that pic that was circulating in 2010; the shotguns look waaaay too big. Almost like cannons.

Yeah I can see GWS making a vetkit/bits kit as they can make more money that way, end of the day to try and save money on an army many guardsmen go vets so makes some sense...oh what am i saying? it's GWS they'll give us conscripts first! And Not sure i could see the arty being multipacks but the Hydra, cuz the guns based on top of the hull might not be compatible with the other kits where they are based inside the hull...could see the Medusa/Colossus being added to the bassies box and the price going up tho...
