Because you people are refusing to comment on my pictures, I am forced to double-post. I have taken some pictures of my entire painted army, and I have modified some of my guardsmen to make them look better. Here they are: Skull icon (the symbol of Avaleron): Servo skull: Modified sentinel: Plasma gunner with more pronounced scars: Please leave a comment or I will be forced to TRIPLE POST!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Ah right, I have a few and don't know what to do with them you see. They're cool, although a bit useless....

You can always attach them to the base of your commander or something.

Looking really good man. Keep up the painting.
Have you ever thought of trying to paint the eyes onto your models? I know that it doesn't make a huge difference on the battlefield, but I personally think it would greatly improve the overall look of them.
But they still look great. Weathering on the armor doesn't seem to be excessive and the camo looks aweome.

Thanks for the comments! I tried to paint eyes on a guy once and I failed. I might, eventually, go over all my guys and put eyes on them, but right now I don't want to take the risk.

New pics! Guardsman in an epic pose: (before the skulls were added.) I used a grenade arm for the conversion.

Lookin' good. My favorite is the prone missile launcher guy. You just don't get enough prone nowadays...
As for eyes, I only paint them on models that have the eyes actually sculpted. The majority of the guard minis don't. Trust me, a dark area where their eyes are is much better looking than white and black paint on eyelids.

Nice use of the sprues as rubble. Not entirely sure about some of your objectives (the twin AC's look a bit silly to me), but the whole thing is pretty good, solid work. Look forward to seeing how your painting improves with time and practice

Nice bit of converting with the pose, DadCRO.
Edit - are you chopping down the Cata neck stubs slightly, to make them fit the cadian bodies better?

Nice bit of converting with the pose, DadCRO. Edit - are you chopping down the Cata neck stubs slightly, to make them fit the cadian bodies better? I've found that the 'Chan heads (the infantry squad heads, not the HW team and command squad heads) all benefit from having their necks shaved down to fit Cadian torsos, otherwise they wind up looking giraffe-like... The epic Guard pose guy looks great overall, but I think he could stand to have his neck shortened a bit. Oh, and with a bit of effort, it is possible to get good looking eyes on Guard heads. I find that shading the eye socket with black, then applying a slash of white for the eyeball, and a spot of black for the pupil generally works quite well. It takes a steady hand and a bit of practice, and the occasional having to go back and start the process over, but it winds up looking really good, IMO.

Thanks for the comments and advice guys! No, I haven't been shortening the necks, personally, I think it looks fine. I'm probably going to paint some eyes on my guys; you've all been very helpful.

i see i am not the only one to have stuck the sentinel chainsword onto a guy, except mine's on a space marine =D
great camo, basic but fits nicely with how you present it.
in my personal opinion (and this is in my opinion and dont take any notice of it because its coming from someone who paints his army {or tries to} in neat lined parade uniform) but its too blobby for me, but as i said my guys are parade so ignore me =D
but all in all me likes =) 9/10
looking forward to seeing more

More pictures incoming!!! ;D I've had this wish for a while. I'm (very) slowly repainting my AoBR Marines into... The Knights of Avaleron! (he got a bit rough around the edges because I used nail polish remover at first, but then I switched to Pinesol) And here is a picture of one of my 11-year-old brother's Tyranids (he painted it himself). Enjoy!

Here are some more pics of my brother's tyranids. The trygon isn't done yet, he still needs to make the carapace a bit more colorful. Enjoy!
