Ok with copyright in mind I have finally managed to pluck up the courage to ask it :
How did you make that Rhino Trooper ? Where did you find the SCAR Ls ? How come I can never make an authentic model without someone beating me to it ?

hehe... ok the rhino heads are from hasslefree minitures, the SCAR's are from 'chapterhouse studios' right... im about to make you all very jealous... i was informed that i had a present last night when i went to meet with a few friends for our weekly game of rogue trader... i thought it may be a spare model or two that i was going to be given... i my suprise i was handed a box and it was really really heavy.... this is what i was given... for nothing... totally free... let me see... 4 catchan ML teams 3 cadian ML teams 7 catchan HB teams 6 catchan mortar teams 1 catchan lascannon team 2 cadian HB teams 1 spare cadian HB 7 cadians catchans- 2 flamers 2 plasmaguns 5 sergents 25 troops 8 heavy flamers 3 demo charges 2 sitting tank guys metal sly marbo also, not pictured, a squad of steel legion, random heretics/zelots, some randon models with shotguns (not gw... no idea the manufactuer) and some random LoTRs models... bet you wish you had friends like mine ... and im told there may be more. .

Great conversions and painting all round - I just re-read the entire thread. Good find on the catas. Are you going to convert them to the darksider veterans? All of them?

Post by AshotNINJA on Jun 3, 2012 18:03:26 GMT -5
most of them will be converted to a sf styled lightsider group, and some will be getting the darksider treatment... im pretty much full time sculpting atm... havent painted for a while now.
picked up 2 packs of kromlech running guardsman legs yesterday, so im gonna make a few squads of men charging into battle.

Feth, tht's ALOT of heavy flamers, there's even metal cadians..; Can't wait to see how you incorporate these

most of the new metal troops will be getting headswaps for plasic cadian ones, and all of them will be getting the usual plate carrier, hydration pouch and mag pouches like the rest of my troops, also gonna make tshirt sleeves on most of them too to hide theier uber muscley arms... the rest will be getting big SF beards and suntans...
but we will see... theres alot on my plate (not just the EDF) to do... i got a commission to start on (starting end of the week) and this new overhaul of necromunda to do (project is going to be named 'borderlands') , which im producing a shed load of terrain for atm... wip pics up soon.

been a while since my last update... im working on a few different odds and ends atm... first up... a salamander conversion the conversion is based apon a 1/35 scale ww2 m-20 scout car by italieri models... its a great kit, and not overly large, and imo perfect for a scout vehicle... with the conversion, ive added kromlech wheels because they are larger and more rugged looking than the wheels that were on the m20.. its got an autocannon attached to the weapon mount and ive made a custom mag for the autocannon out of plasticard. ive just undercoated this and i hope to get it painted up pretty soon... im planning on giving this a propper camoflauge paintjob, as i dont want it to look like the rest of the infantry vehicles i field .. next up is an alternative to a heavy weapon team... i got a pack of the M249's from max mini and i was suprised with just how massive the guns were... i converted a trooper holding one and decided that i would use the 249;s as heavy bolter stand ins, and because of thier size, they would be better being attached to vehicles. i could field this idea as either a single unit with 2 wounds... or perhaps have a trooper controller as the second model for the heavy weapon team...

Sweet! The scout car could easily Count As a Chimera.
As for the HW tankettes, I'd give them a gunner/controller. Mostly because it's much, MUCH cooler but alo so that you are absolutely covered with two models on the base = two wounds.
What's the piece you used for the aiming device?

The new vehicles are excellent. Roughly what diameter are those Kromlech wheels? I've been looking at them on ebay.

@chem they are exactly 25mm diameter... what are you thinking about using them for?

Got a simple and basic idea for your fluff, perhaps this could help :
A Rogue Trader and his expeditionary contingency discover and colonise a planet in Tau space, become powerful, make their own weapons and install the rogue trader's political ideology ,etc ... and are declared hereticus.
It would explain the multi culturalism. Wormholes and exceptional navigational skill make Eden hard to access and strong economic ties with the Tau could bolster technologic achievements and deter Imperial vessels...
I dunno I'm just putting it out there

Great work and man, and you have some friends I must say, did it cost you a lot of beer or what?
However One humble remark Gun Fu Panda, the profiles of the tyres are running in different ways, only the one on the right back and left front do have the correct direction I believe. But I presume they are not fixed yet.

Dammit I was hoping no one would notice that lol... I only noticed once I glued it all together, that there's right and left wheels... what I'm gonna do is keep it on till I get another m20 and then correct it with the rest of my wheels... I brought 3 packs so I got 12 of them

@chem they are exactly 25mm diameter... what are you thinking about using them for? Imperialising an Ork battlewagon. I want to replace the Ork wheels/ track system with more human looking wheels. I suspect these are a bit too small as the wheels for SM bikes are 18mm. Also if you're still looking for alien ideas, have you seen these resin head-swaps? www.maxmini.eu/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=22_23&products_id=185

Wow! Your work is pure Awesomesauce! I do have a couple of questions if you don't mind though?
How did you make the purple smoke on you Psyker? Is it a combination of greenstuff and putty? Secondly, what rules do you use for the Halo Warthogs in games?
