Hi all.
I'm possibly interested in starting a small collection of ancient historical troops. I'm thinking about Assyrians, Cathaginians, Hittites, Isralites, or Pelopnisian war era Greece and Thrace.
But I would like to know what games systems are good, and where can I find high quality miniatures; I've looked at the Immortal figures, and was impressed by them.
Also, what sized firces do you need, as I'm unwilling to pay to much on large amounts of metal miniatures straight away.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Cheers, Shostak.

I do, they're terrible. Like 6th Edition Fantasy but without the charm or magic. I can happily recommend about a dozen better systems, including Hail Caesar, Basic Impetus and so on.

Hail Caesar looks pretty good. Does the scale of the minis matter, and are gamers fussed about time periods and history being realistic; ie, is it OK for Britons to fight against Greeks?

Sorry for the double post, but I wasn't allowed to edit.
How do you buy things on the Immortal miniatures site? It doesn't have any prices listed or 'add to cart' buttons.

Immortal is down at the minute, so you have to order through North Star Figures or Warlord Games.

Wow, they actually stock Diadochi figures. Perhaps painting them will count towards my Dissertation.
