Scenario special rule stated that Patrol Leader was worth one additional Kill Point. He chose non-rhino CSM champ as leader and I chose one of my GL + HB squads' sarge. Rule also said that the leader could be targeted in CC like an IC.
Deployment:
I win roll-off and deploy both HB + GL squads near my table edge, one within a square of fences and one slightly closer to enemies behind a wall.
Walking Chaos marines take position behind a large rock a bit left from table center and rhino is deployed facing my line.
Round I
Chimera rolls in and speeds 12" stopping right behind my foremost squad, sentinel runs bit more left.
Possesseds enter the field from my left and their rhino speeds forwards. Walking marines advance too, running and the marine-rhino speeds 12" and pops smokes.
Round II
Chimera just shuffles a couple of inches and sentinel heads towards the Possesseds, wrecking their Rhino with autocannon. GL's and HB's and all stuff from Chimera is fired at another Rhino but only managing to shake its crew (due to extra armour)
Possesseds move towards sentinel (they had gotten Rending attacks from skill-table) And CSM-rhino tosses the marines out within rapid-fire range of my front unit, walking CSM run again as they were still out of rapidfire range. Bolters kill a couple of my veterans, I got somewhat good cover rolls. Possesseds assault my Sentinel but fail to score a single rending with 15 attacks. (lots of 6's to hit )
Round III
Chimera makes a minor move to prevent automatic hits in case marines would charge it. All infantry squads fire at the front CSM both HB + GL squads killing one and plasmas killing one and one plasma gunner dying. Possesseds still fail to get rending.
Walking CSM squad gets into rapid fire range and the three left of first squad decide too move a bit backwards to hide behind rhino. Both squads fire at my veterans, but only two wounds of which one to HB -team. Possesseds score 0 rending.
Round IV
Chimera moves again a bit to prevent autohits. One HB+GL squad fires at 3 CSM's, killing one, rest is firedt at 6-strong and one or two die, I can't rmember. Sentinel causes a wound but possesseds pass armour save. They still can't rend.
Bigger CSM squad gets closer my veterans ans the 2 left of another move to see my Chimera. Plasma is fired at chimera with no result and bolt pistols kill a single veteran. Rhino starts speeding at my rearmost veteran squad (which has my leader in it) Sentinel is still unharmed. CSM attack my veterans squad, killing a couple, I kill none and veterans break, not caught by sweeping advance though and they start falling back.
Round V
Veterans fall back, chimera moves a bit again keeping within 12" of the bigger CSM squad. Plasmas get direct fire now and with lack of cover only the patrol leader of his is left standing, only to be torrented to death by surviving HB+GL squad. Sentinel scores a wound, possesseds lose by one and fail armour save again. 3 of them left.
Rhino tank shocks my leader unit, but I pass ld-check. The two CSM fire at chimera with no effect again. Sentinel still unharmed. Game Ends.
Imperial Guard Wins
Talked some time after the game, my opponent had had a 5 year break in playing and had done a couple of mistakes for it. I think if he just rushed the possesseds into my veterans he might have won it. Though he should of gotten rid of sentinel, heäd still been 2-3 turns away from my other troops as he had entered field from too far left. Nonetheless, very nice guy and game was nice.
