I wanted something different, plus that I thinks it's a pain painting those lasguns. I didn't cut them of because the thought never ocoured to me!
And Harkers face-protection is simply green stuff made on free hand until I was satisfied. There's a pic of how it looked unpainted in the previous page :-)

So, i got the first painting done today and the turret is almost ready for the undercoat! Also, I've been working on the fluff of the army, using some old ideas I found when the company was called the Royal Semtexian, fought in bright blue shiny dress uniforms and was stuck in the fourth edition... Some rewrites and adding of other fluff and stuff, and it will soon be done! Even have fluff on most of the vehicles and officers. But, as that is far from being done, here's the updated WIP pics:

I really think the turret is a bit too busy, especially with the missile on it. Other than that it does look more equipped and ready for war!

I thought the same thing at first, but then I reminded myself that the reason for that is that the turret is so small! The missile idea I took from the Russian BMP-1, and I think I'm gonna do all other hunter-killers like that. But honestly, I have no idea where I should put the missile if it's not on the ml I have to admit that the turret was a bit to heavy at the front, so I had to glue a small coin inside it to balance it out :-P

Try the side of the turret with the 'launcher' led on its side

Yeah, you're probably right. I try to avoid that because the missile points towards the barrel then, but I'll look in my bitz box and try to fix it so that it's pointing along the ML barrel instead of towards it And yeah, the company has a new number and a name! The old number didn't work with the fluff I've come up with this far. I'll probably post how it looks for the moment during the weekend On another note: The hellhound I ordered this sunday seems to have arrived. Never before happened that something has arrived this quick, but hey, sometime has to be the first!

with my chimeras ive decided to use the space marine hunter killer missle launcher as its quite compact and isnt a massive obvious missle and rack... just a tiny tube launcher...
im loving the name, devil dancers...

Oh how lucky am I? Both the hellhound and the upgrade kit from FW (thanks for the tip to get something from there KRIEGEIRK) has come! Soon I'll have the scavangers done as well, and my hope is that they will look as shabby as their chimera! And on the HKM: I actually got 2 on the second-hand sentinels I bought a while ago They have quite a thick layer of paint on them, but that shouldn't be to hard to fix! So I will do some tests when I get home and have the time! And, for last, the first part of the fluff is done! commissar.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=one&action=display&thread=14775Gonna have more time to work on it from this sunday, will be travelling with train 11 hours/week so I'll have a lot of time to kill!

About two weeks since last update, and then I didn't even have any new pics to show... But that is about to change! I've been working on my Hellhound today, and tried a few new methods of painting. He will also be the test subject for my weathering. So, here's the Hellhound: I noticed some flaws that I need to fix, but it's still a wip. Plus a test for new ways to paint A weathering-method that I developed years ago. I need to refine that method and make it better, but I think that it will be a good start.

The weathering looks good, but looking at your Hellhound I think you can do better do you have any old pastels laying about? Anything you can create a coloured dust from?

Tnx 3ff3ct! I tried to get as much as possible done this weekend, cause the bigger bosses have decided that it's a good idea to get three more weeks of arctic warfare... It's quite frankly a stupid idea, we're studying tactics and is in charge of battalions. We don't need to play grunts in the snow any more... Worst part, I'm not sure that my GG entry will be done in time

Swings and roundabouts dude, things get in the way and it's not the end of the world. Mine's still just undercoated...

So, there's been a lot at school, with the arctic training completed and the last exam in tactics done. That is, not much painting. I've got some done, and will post some pics this weekend.
To make matters worse, I've started to write my final essay today, an exam that will stretch to the summer. Not a lot of freetime, but I will write it from home so hopefully I'll get something done (aiming for the glorious hellhound to be done).
Now I'm to marvel at what you lads have come up with these last weeks!

So lads, I've got a lot done on my tanks, and they start to look quite uniform! The one exception will be the Hellhound, and perhaps the manticore because I don't want to ruin those paintjobs. But, here's what I've done during my rare free time: First up, the hellhound. Still a lot to do, but it's shaping up nice enough! Then, my LRs. Got pics on them in 4 different stages: With a rough coat of LGS to get that rugged exterior To the left, with foundation and drybrushing done. The right one has been highlighted and washed. And lastly, with some weathering. The rust ain't fully done, but is shaping up! A gunshield for the griffon The basilisk is ready for the first layer of paint. I love that extra long barrel, looks mean ;D For comparison: As always, C&C is most appreciated!

Sorry, the barrell on the basilisk just looks silly. Except for that I like your stuff. Can we get a shot from adifferent angle on the Exterminator?

Tnx egon! I should be able to bring you e few more pics of the exterminator during this week And one thing on the exterminator: The reason to why the weapons (HB and AC) is black is that I don't really know what to do with them! Any ideas would help And the basilisk... Well, as said, I like it, but the only reason I did it was because I had a spare earthshaker cannon in my bitz-box. Truth to be told, he's about to be retired and replaced with younger ones.

Hello all IGMBers! With the final exam and a move going on at the same time I don't have the time I want for neither painting nor looking at the work that you all have done. I've been able to paint a few guys, finding my old Dante model and the better part buying me a squad of catachans (in fact, me using her happy mood when she found out that she had passed HER final exam and was done with school). I figured that they would make some excellent penal troopers with the rest of my force being based on cadians. I actually had the time to play one game versus an eldar force, 4000 points on each side. I won the roll-of, so I got to start, but we both set up our forces in the mood that both of us was getting the first turn. He rolled a 6, and dealed some major blows to me during the first turn, and the rest is history... Was a fun game though Here's the force that was choosen to fight the dying eldar: And, looking at the force that I hade about two years ago: I feel quite satisfied when I see how the force has grown! Well, here's the penal trooper: The custodian: Togheter: And, as promised, Dante: The reason for the new paint on him is that I'm starting a new BA-force, but a successor chapter this time. And the big differences I'll have the sangiunary guard in silver and the death company white! Hope you'll enjoy the pics!

Quick update without pics:
The penal squad is almost done, the manticore slightly improved and I've been working on a SOE during my free time at the academy. There will not be a new BA force, and almost no new adds to the current force due to a current extension of the family. If the boss is kind I MIGHT get a valkyrie, but that's not a prioty right now. Oh, and I've applied for tank unit when I'm done with the academy.
As usual, time to look around at all the other new stuff!

I tried something similar for a Heavy Bolter HWT team member using the scout kit but utterly failed so I'm dead impressed by that conversion, I like the camo on that particular model especially also, just the right amount for the scale.

Ivory: Thanks! Coming up with some new pics now, I hope that I don't disappoint you Optimat: Thanks! Camo is one thing that I'm struggling with, and to pat myself on the back, I agree with you on Harker! The one time I made a camo for a single guardsman that I'm pleased with So, some updates. It has been so and so with the painting, quite natural due to graduation from the academy, starting work (at the base where I studied IFV, yey...) and a pregnant fiance. The last thing has actually been a blessing, because she gets tired at nights and need to sleep, so then the paints and other stuff comes out! The things I've done is a started Valkyrie/Vendetta (As I discovered, they are HUGE) and a catachan cs, that I find is a much nicer piece of kit than the cadian one with better details on the plastic for example. First, the new Lt standing beside his comrade from Cadia. I took this shot, and the next one, to compare how my painting-style has changed. I would say to the better! The standard bearers (I know I know, they're NOT worth the points, but they look so gooood! Atleast the Catachan one...) And, I needed a small confidence-boost, so here's the full force, guess the points and win a prize! That's that for this time, as usual I appriciate all C&C you give me! And, the most important rule: There's no bad feedback!
