Awesome stuff, Woz!
I really need to get around to getting my 1/16 RC King Tiger (the one that had parts get thrown out by accident when the junk removers mistakenly raided my modeling table prior to my moving) finished off and take it for a spin around my new neighborhood...
The red seems just a touch too bold for some reason. I thought the scheme traditionally used more of a dull, reddish brown shade. Were you working from a reference pic?
The red is undercoat. On some tanks they just left the red iron oxide undercoat showing instead of using brown. Sometimes due to a shortage of paint and also by missing a colour (brown) it meant the tank could be painted faster.

At a local hobby store the other week I saw 1/16th RC kits for the Tiger I and the Jagdpanther, and they were not unreasonably priced. Once I'm working again, I think my Tamiya 1/16th RC King Tiger may be having to get some siblings.
