After finishing the CCS I was thinking what next to do ? I do have a nice found on e-bay. A Basilisk, partly damaged but unpainted and I was able to take it apart nicely. So that could bring in more fire power. On the Other hand, I do have already the LR, the Las Canons and the Reapers and I do need Scoring Units which are able to control or denial objectives on the enemey´s side. In other words units from the Troops selection. DKOK has only Centaurs to bring scoring units up to Objectives (which is really the Hard Way !), and if you don´t use allies there are no flyers either. Therefore I like to build a Hades for the Engineers. I know the Hades is a vehicle and not a scoring unit, but the Engineers are a Scoring unit able to (at least denial an objective) with their Hades variation of the standard Deep Strike. in round 2 or 3 the Hades and in round 3 or 4 the Engineers with some good fire power. what do you guys think ?

Hi there, it is time for a small update. I decided to work on the Hades with the Engineers and now the Hades is finished I thought to show it to you, I took the opportunity to work with some new techniques: - the Hair spray technique, which I find very, very easy for creating a good effect, especially when supplemented with some sponging. - working with an acrylic Glaze Medium for applying the weathering powders. I must say I found it a tremendous relief ! The simplicity applying the powders with it this is amazing. Thank you for watching and for your comments. @cosmic, the Reaver will be there some day .......... don´t no where, don´t no when, but I know it will be there some sunny day....

Well, the Engineers arrived........ These are the first 5 of the 10 I want to make. But the Hades can be thrown into battle tonight.. While they are a Troops Choice, I see the Engineers as a kind of special. Crawling through tunnels below the battlefield gives them their own attitude. Kind of Miners.... I wanted them to have their own look. I kept the colors of the uniforms but changed the Armour color into a Grey tone of which I am very pleased how it turned out. It was also the first time I used a Wash of Vallejo: Sepia Shade instead of the Citadel Gryphonne Sepia. I am not sure yet which one I like better. The Vallejo does better "sets itself" in the recesses and corners, but on the other hand is a bit more stainy on the flat surfaces where the Citadel gives a more even wash. with the Engineers the bit more stainy look fits perfect with the Miner role they have with the Hades so that´s fine for me. Do others have the same experience with Vallejo? Regarding the Bases : I made them myself and was stupid enough to finish them and stick them to to models before I even had the tiniest thought of casting them for myself for further use............ Well, this means I need to make them again for the other 5 guys, but it doesn´t matter, because it is fun to do thanks for watching and the morale support

The drill's weathering is interesting, but I think that the drill bit itself could definitely benefit from being painted a different colour from the main hull. I gave mine a dark drybrushing for a low metallic sheen and then applied several layers of earth-coloured weathering to make them look like they've been used recently: i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd194/welsh-paul/40k/IMG_1783b.jpg

Thank you guys for the kind words and great compliments today not a real update but just a photo I made in a different way. Currently I'm working on another 15 engineers. In yesterdays battle the Hades with the 5 engineers contested an objective which was in Ork hands. and caused an draw by that. Well done guys, breaking with the tradition that a newly painted model is shot from the table with the blink of an eye. the same model 1 time from front and 1 time back side (3 different models)

I'm a huge fan of your army magot, you're truly doing the Death Korps models justice.
I noticed that you mysteriously went from "5 of 10 engineers painted" to "I have 5 painted and here are the next 15" ;D I fully understand, because having recently painted by own engineers they are probably some of the best models that GW or Forge World have ever produced. The regular trench coats are beautiful models as well, but there is just something so evocative about those engineer casts.
I like the end result with their uniform as well. The different shades of green and brown look very "real-world". The weathering on the drill is also very good - it looks like its been drilling through clay with smears along the side. I see that you've left the patch below the conveyor unweathered - I would put a light coating of dust over this to take the "freshness" out of it because a drill like this would produce ridiculous amounts of dust.
That said, get back to painting!
(Also that last photo of the engineers is a little disturbing!!)

thanks Major, indeed I got the swing for another 10 of them LOL It gives a good feeling to receive such a nice compliment from a "fan" but your comment: (Also that last photo of the engineers is a little disturbing!!) made me all afternoon laugh, brilliant wohahahaha. Never had thought that people could look at them with disturbance, but since you mentioned it I look at them in a totally different way. ;D for now a small teaser I hope to finish these 15 engineers upcoming weekend.

Just lovely, I have some serious DKoK jealousy right now. If my paint station wasn't overflowing with +++DELETED BY THE INQUISITION+++ I'd go and order some of these right away. You've made some awesome models look even better. I also heavily approve of the bases
