The Eldar have a devastating gun called the "Star Cannon"!!!!!!!!!!
Against guardsmen and space marines it hits on 3+ and gets re-rolls because of special psychic power from farseer and KILLS KILLS KILLS ON A 2+, YES U GOT IT A 2+!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i really dont like it!!!!

Yes, I think the Starcannon is infamous for being a very good piece of killage. It doesn't hurt IG as much as my poor Marines, though.

I say, see a star cannon and bomb it back to the stars.

Edit: Ok sorry about the spelling mistake, but there is no reason to be so rude.

its a star cannon, not a start cannon. anyways, i play eldar and the the starcannon is IMHO one of the most fantastic weapons in the game, get two of them and watch them rip open tactical squads like a psycopathic surgeon to his patients!

How To Stop the Starcannon with IG:
Step 1: Buy Leman Russ Step 2: Point Leman Russ at Starcannon squad Step 3: Unload.
Simple as that ;-)
But, unless its an Ulthwe Starcannon or on a Wraithlord, they tend to hit on 4+, which mean they'll average a whopping 1 Guardsman a turn dead. If your opponent is smart, he'll take Scatter Lasers (A proper IG general fears these more that Starcannons)

Bright Lances may seem scary, but from a single Bright Lance at BS3 has about a 4% chance of killing a Leman Russ via glancing hit on front armour, or side for that matter(which, if you put your Leman Russ hull down makes things extremely difficult). Via a penetrating hit, a Bright Lance has about a 12.5% chance of destroying a Leman Russ. For their points, Leman Russ's are some of the hardest tanks on the battle field. I know this having played against them many times as they dish out wanton destruction on my poor Eldar forces.
Don't like tanks? A couple of Heavy Bolter squads will easily throw down the hurt vs. Eldar.

a bright lance remember reduces any enemy armour above 12 to 12, so it is more likely to score the penetrating hit

Bright Lances may seem scary, May seem?! THEY ARE!! ROFL j/k The eldar/dark eldar have some pretty nasty weapons...When I played the marines those bright lances and dark cannons(dark eldar equivilent) or whatever the hell they are always seemed to carve up my land raider...rigged dice?LOL You see these eldar creatures with some half decent guns...but aren't so smart...they can't even build decent armour...LOL

Gotta agree that scatter lasers worry me more than bright lances. When a WarWalker squad can walk on the field with 24 shots per turn between three units - jammy buggers.

Um, I play Eldar and I don't find starcannons all that usefull except against troop heavy marine armies. Against guard their rate of fire should not make much dent in your numbers. Scatter lasers and missile launchers are much better.

suneokun - please read the rule about reviving dead posts. This was started in 2004 and the last reply was almost three years ago. All the posters have been MIA for many years.

AddictiveWoz lives....
Though as an eldar player myself. starcannons are the best Anti- space marine weapon around. Though against guard, scatter lasers of 3 reapers, fast shot and a missile launcher is better.
I never even got to play against the guard as eldar.

Sorry AddictiveWoz, I didn't look at the date as as it was on the first page, assumed it was reasonably modern - sort of indicates this whole section is pretty tired... as page one charts back to 2004...
