Okay, so I'm apparently the one guy in existence on the internet with this problem, but I literally cannot use fiberwire. Okay, I can USE it, but I can't use it effectively. How you ask?
Everytime I sneak up on someone with fiberwire, I can never get close enough before they spot my shadow/hear my sneakiness/whatever, and they either run off or shoot me. I am quite literally on the first level, replaying the same section for the 7th time, trying to figure out how to sneak up to the darn cook without setting off her ninja reflexes.

Doing it all wrong mate!
when your far from your opponent just open up on him with the SMG. I know what your thinking 'stealth man!" so just stick on your handy silencer and fill them full of metal with just the slight 'PFF PFF' noice .
Sorted!
Before I get comments I am kinda jokin, however killing loads of guys ain't a sign of a bad assassin, check Leon out! It's about stealth and fear and then blasting everyone.

I would like to point out I did get past the first mention, by sniping the don (who would've guessed I preferred that?), but it still annoys me that I can't seem to figure out how to successfully sneak "kill" (I have the same problem with the nonlethal knockout drug) anyone. Also, the silencer isn't completely effective. People close by can hear it. Yes, that is a concern

The real trick, is to just kill the target. No one else. Be like a soft wind. Get in, do the job get out.

Okay, so now that I've figured out that nobody ELSE knows how to use the fiberwire...

Actually I was quite good at using it. Work your way up slowly from behind usually did it for me.
The first "job" usually was solved by passing the first door on the left in the wall. Sneak and hide a few meters behind it ( asmall porng if I remember correctly). A guard will come out and head towards from where you came and start to "stand still by the bushes" with his back towards you. Slowly sneak up on him and when you are approximatly 0,5 m behind him still in sneaking mode hit the attack button and keep it pressed down until he quits struggeling.

So I don't have to hold down the attack button to "ready" the wire?

As far as I remember, as long as you have it in your hands you do not need to push the attack button to "ready" it.

isnt there normally a passive way of killing all the main targets, too make their death look like an accident...

AshotNINJA : Yeah you can make it look like they choked on the olive in a cocktail or choked on the portions of the food they were eating. Hitman is a very in depth game.

I believe there is a level in the series where the target is fond of hot tubs. With glass bottoms. Situated over a height that is in no way survivable to the half-naked man. Easiest "accident" ever.
