As i'm getting bored with my current army list, i play Biel-Tan Elder and am thinking of making a completly mech list . I have found out while playing that Waveserpents run rings around your opponent and i also think they are one of the best transports in the game. Wondering what other people think about a Mech Elder army. Thanks, Karskin.

mech eldar is awesome, probably the strongest army in 40k if you play them right. the only drawback is that in tournaments you don't get points back when totalling your VPs for transports (which makes up a huge chunk of your list). this puts you at a pretty heavy disadvantage in VP scenarios (which is almost all the time in tournaments) but you'll find that once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy to completely annihilate any army you come across. with mech eldar (in tournies at least) you're betting on your chances to kill em to a man (which are suprisingly good odds).

Yeah i agree they rock, and being skimmers Elder tanks can be really difficult to destroy.

especially if you sink alot of points into them in the wargear dept. ...which is where you run into setbacks in the tourny scene.

Yeah i guess but they soak up a lot of heavy fire which keeps other fragile infantry units a hell of a lot safer.

looking over the VP scoring rules lately - you only score VPs for stuff destroyed, not for stuff that survives on your side, so running a bunch of expensive skimmers really isn't a big deal in the VP department. go eldar! I wish I liked the models as much as marines, I'd have an eldar army to be sure.
