www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpLM6WpYWUcThat's a video from blitzkrieg commander. I think I may have some of them minis. British forces ones. I think they are 2mm scale but will have to dig them out. Flames of war. What's the difference between early/mid/late? I'm guessing they is more unit choice in late games? I saw the cost and I agree they look a bit expensive, but they is something appealing about the game. I think it's just being more realistic compared to Warhammer. Tbh, I really want a modern war fair game, based on current conflict such as Afghanistan, or maybe a fantasy war using current troops and equipment. Iv actually been writing my own rules for that sort of game, just cant find the minis.

That's 6 or 10 mm(could be pendraken) You choose the period for the technology. Apparantly tigers where not around in 1940 you know lol. It's just to make sure both players have an equal army. It's like having a 5th and a 2nd edition army facing each other otherwise blitzkrieg commander also makes cold war commander. Same game different units And here ya go with 15 mm afgan/irak style minis+ us marines and french foreign legion. www.peterpig.co.uk/range17.htm

Next problem is vehicles in the same scale. Basically I want infantry, apc, armour, and helicopter/fast jet (where possible subject to force) for the following: British, USA, Russian, middle east and Chinese. It's fustrating looking trying to find everything in the same scale, but your a Jedi when it comes to this

I looked on the site and take it the answer is no, but do they do a starter set like fantasy and 40k? Would be easier to get a mate to join the fun if they do. Nice force btw, I was thinking about going British or American, although I do fancy rock about with tiger tanks And Peter: back off topic, do you think 15mm are too small? My idea is for each team to have around 20 infantry! With no more than 6/8 vehicles. So I'm thinking on a standard board 15mm maybe to small. Don't know why I didn't think of this before

The brits have great artillery and vickers, use the commonwealth inf, you can have indian, aussies, zealanders etc., the american mortars are ridiculous, and every officer can be a spotter 'O'; for flames, its all about the terrain, and the use of it too..
oh, and starting inf heavy is a great start, all inf in the game are like marines, all have a 3+ inf save in most cases, if they're dugged in, oh man.. only way to dig em out is with assult

Is that starter set with the latest rule book? Take it for the bundle rule books I have to buy as is, or hunt on eBay as you can't get them seperatly.
If I didn't get the starter set, what would you recommend buying first (after rule book)?
