I have been thinking about getting a plastic molding kit for obvious reasons, however I was wondering what kind you all use (if you use them at all) so! reply if you know, Phillips out

I'm planing to silicon, with a resin of some description, because I can reheat it and start again, as opposed to latex.

Sorry to burst your bubble, most resin I know of gets hot as it sets.....

So if I were to try and copy Kreig Guardsmen then there is a possibility of it melting? what if I used greenstuff?

no, because its the the casting resin that heats up, not the mold.

Also, my plan was to mark them differently, so that if I start selling stuff, I don't sell the models I made, as that is strictly Illegal, although copping something is illegal, it is hard to find out about if you are using them for personal use only.

The heat the resin reaches depends on the type of resin you use. I used to work with fibreglass resin and it didn't reach 85 degrees. Be aware of quantities for mixing resin though as you don't want it hardening before you get it in the molds, you also don't want it in the mold for 3 weeks.

Probably not, although I certainly wouldn't want mold deformation and then resin set all over my kitchen table

Latex mold stuff isn't too pricey, though. Just get some of that. Also, release agent. That's important.

I'm going for the Alumilite mini resin casting kit from these guys: www.nigellawton009.com/PayPalCasting.htmlSome friends have used them to successfully cast *cough* non-GW scenery in the past and the prices are pretty good. I do feel the need to point you to GW's own IP disclaimer though, and they can be very aggressive: Translation: don't get caught!
