Need ideas for IG conversion of Fenrisian Wolves

Then new Fenrisian wolves look freakin awesome; only problem is that I don't play SW, but I really want to find a way to use the models,

any ideas on fluff and conversion?(other than the wolves being the commanders pet, which is the first thing most people say)

I was thinking the wolves are genetically altered Guardsmen originating secret and illegal Ad mech to create a more adaptive Guardsmen(the planet my regiment is from has environments similar to Fenris but is more like the Himalayas and is not considered a death world but still not an easy place to live in), but the experience went awry and their DNA destabilized, turning into the wolves as you see there(like the theory of the origin of the Fenrisian wolves)

Unless you were thinking of the Space Marines that ride the wolves?

You could use them as rough riders? Use the wolves as the mount and then convert a guardsman for the rider.

The wolves would make a great mount for rough riders, looking at the models in the £15.00 pack. Cyber Wolf I think would be more interesting but at £10 for one model that's an expensive compromise. Then it's making the fluff I suppose, I mean I play collect desert guard, it would be a little difficult to argue shaggy thick coated wolves running around the desert.

They are too big for rough riders I'm afraid.

Maybe as ogryns or if you put a heavy weapon on them as sentinels..

This thread just made me buy Lizardmen Cold One riders and a new squad of Catachans.
