Now that I see the photos larger, I have a few spots to touch up before painting... Stupid finger prints!

nice, what sculpting putty have you used?
the medals and hat are superb... could do with an aquilla on the hat i think and on the right breast... i think that would tie it up nicely...

I used a grey putty called ProCreate. It is wonderful stuff to work with! Once painted you will see the Aquila on the shoulder pads. I am doing this as more of a pre-heresy era army, so the use of the Aquila on regular Imperial Army units was not quite as abundant.

Looking good. I agree that his hat needs an Aquila (or some other kind of hat badge). I'm guessing that the lower edge of the front of the armour will get the same edge as the rest of the edges? That looks neat btw.
Just as a general comment, do with it what you will, right now it doesn't really look "40K-ish". It looks quite a bit like a fantasy model with a 40K gun (that might be your intention, if so, fine). I would prefer some more gear to make it more fitting with the setting. Canteens, ammo pouches, maybe a bandolier. Something to show that it belongs in a world with spaceships, tanks and robots and not something that would terrify a Bretonnian.

Good point on the additional equipment. The lower edge will remain bare as that is the pattern followed by the regular sized carapace I am doing for the veterans.

I'd still like to see a bit more 40K-ish gear, grenades and ammo belts and such. The extra equipment also kind of looks like they're just stuck to his back since he doesn't have a belt or webbing.
Except for those minor details it's an awesome model.

Thanks for the comments. As far as the random grenades and ammo belts, I am not a big fan of that myself. For webbing, it really would not be seen much with the curiasse on top of it. Just my thought on it.

To each his own. I'd just know how uncomfortable it is to have a cuirass weighing down on the stuff you carry in you belt, so I'd wear the belt over the cuirass. Also, I still think it looks a bit weird. But like I said, cool model no matter what.
