I have been reading a number of posts and threads that seem to suggest fast skimmers move 12" when moving a cruising speed.
This I assume is based on the fact that other vehicles move 12" at cruising.
In relation to fast skimmers, they have the additional 6" 'counts as roads' movement available to them when they move at cruising (not combat 6" nor flatout 24"). This additional 6" is only available at cruising but makes a big difference to the models with 'supersonic' rule which allows all weapons to be fired at cruising speed.
Am I right here?

Skimmers don't benefit from roads, so they don't get the 6" road bonus for driving on them. However, their cruising speed is unfortunately just as fast as any other non-walker vehicle.

Yup, I stand corrected, I hadn't taken on board the exceptions for walkers and skimmers on page 57.
I notice that it still refers to cruising speed and yet fast vehicles may claim an extra 6" to go 24" when moving flat out on roads (page 70) ... which is peculiar wording given page 57.
Anyway.. all this will be irrelevant in a couple of weeks with 6th ed coming out on the 23rd!
Thanks!
