Are hunting lances Unusual Power weapons on the first charge, or are the Power Lances?
The BRB states "If a power weapon has its own unique close combat rules" to use those rules and have certain stats. If the weapon is a power weapon with no extra rules and is modeled as a lance, it has a separate set of rules.
The Codex states that models with a Hunting Lance on the first charge "counts as being armed with a power weapon that strikes at Strength and Initiative 5" and cannot benefit from an additional close combat weapon.
Does the statement that the model strikes at Str and Init 5 count as a special rule of the weapon (making it an Unusual Power Weapon), or is it a special rule of the model, meaning it counts as a power lance?
If it counts as a power lance, then does that mean they strike at Str 6 due to the +1 str granted from power lances?

The BRB itself gives the answer I think : 1. advanced rules that apply to a unit are indicated in their relevant codex 2. advanced ruless always override any contradicting basis rules. so they are Hunting Lances and counting as power weapons that strikes with S5, I5 during first round of combat
However I still do have a question: I can´t find "Power Weapons: they ignore armour saves" anymore. is this gone?
Because if it is , the kill of a unit Chaos Terminators in the first round, as the last time I did, now belongs to the past.

I believe that they are AP3 now, so no Terminator killing sprees unfortunately.

I play mine as AP3 as well until someone can point to a different rule for lances. Pity.

I do see what you mean, but Power Weapons do no longer ignore Armour Save, is that correct? they now have the AP value designated to them, and you can´t no longer kill Terminators, but happily enough the still can do all the other chaos marines (no obliterator, which my opponent doesn´t have ) further more in the Codex it is stated that Hunting Lances are used in the first turn only (on the charge) and are useless after that, because the charge in the tip of the lance is detonated during this first contact. How does this work now? I.m.o. they can´t be used anymore after this first round of combat (charge) so in this way the extra S and I are balanced comparing them with the BRB Power Lance which has a lower S and no increased I but can be used in next combat rounds.

Codex rules override core rules. So they are now one use S5 I5 AP3 weapons.
They got a nerf, since we have a hundred other ways to kill 3+ save things.

Mogul Kamir got better, tho, since Rage now gives an extra Attack on the Charge instead of letting them be led around.
Furious Charge still doesn't stack with the Lances, tho, unfortunately.

Mogul Kamir is a bad ass now.
Lets do the math...
+D3 attacks on the charge +Hammer of Wrath free attack that auto hits
for a grand total of 7 possible attacks.
Not bad.

Hunting lances are a great one hit wonder weapon. Makes me sort of regret not getting rough riders.
