Sorry to tell you this Watts but you just made it onto my zombie plan. In the event of an apocalyptic confrontation with the undead hordes I will be traveling to your house to negotiate/salvage/commandeer your arsenal of Imperial weapons and tanks. The stuff you make keeps getting more awesome every time you post something, very well done!

Hehe, ok, thanks...like to hear that no one is angry about the fact that I´m building that piece... ;D My neightbours, they are very cool people, the people living in front of my house are the coolest of all....they have seen things on this place, hmmmm....I think they can stand every thing.... @peter Cooman: Hmmm..the nearest big airport is USAF Ramstein Airbase....I think they would´nt sent the law...A-10 may be....? Time to go into the holidays, quickly teku18: Arrrgg...Baneblade is such a nice thing, but 1.75€/kg steel , noooo..I think its out of range (and the reason the my area is t small for that beast..) Ponen19: Did we need special ammo, I´ll order some boxes to this day...standardly I use anti aircraft frag ammo, I think that type of ammo fit against zombies.. 3ff3ct: Is´nt it a sort of forge model....very special, not cheap...every body looks at it if its ready...some points speaking fopr the forge variant..;-)

This project is just insanely cool, Watts. All the little details are just right. The crew compartment computer console.. wow!
It's lucky you have a big enough front yard/ back garden. I suppose if you ever took it out would you get a parking ticket/ fine?

Parking ticket..hmmm..I´m not so sure about that... But I can go into fire position combat ready to simulate a innercity counter- terrorism- defence- operation...and then sent the airborne infantry to go shopping...

I remember your older thread when you were just starting this Watts. I didn't know you'd do interior detail like this. Wow! This thing is super cool! Is the turret ring powered so it can rotate by remote? That would be awesome! Especially if someone used it while you were towing it in traffic... maybe on the Autobon? Great work!

@cosmic: "Truly spectacular, now build another one!! " Another one..and then a battery, then a regiment....and the I´ll rule the world... ääähheemmmm...nooo, two years of burned fingers, blinded eyes, cut of skin, squezzed feet, sleepless nights....and 6000€ at least...no not another one... Adding a little radar next year(with rotation) as a stand alone system. Deathkorpsman: The inside Details was absolutly freestyle interpretion of the Interior of an small Hydra. I found nothing in the net or books about this. But in this two years there are some pics of modern combat vehicles I had seen and give me ideas. And see stuff in shops, and think by me..that would look fine inside;-) Theoretically, the winch which drives the turntable is cable and remote controlled. But the winch sitting behind the steel armour it works only with the cable in the turret Bobulus: Hehe...hope so..

My hat is off to you Itericwatts. I've always loved the Hydra design and its close resemblance to the Flakpanzer Gepard. You have caught the form and spirit of a Hydra turret perfectly. Do you have enough pictures of the whole process to do a stage by stage recount of how you made it? That would be really interesting. Either way, fantastic work!

@machine Gun Kelly: Must I wearing a cape then? Deathkorpsman: Thanks, yes I loved the hydra system since the day I see the first pic(as an follower of old style air defense). I´ve posted a small number of pics here in the board commissar.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Tanks&action=display&thread=6997&page=2At the hp (but only in german) is an complete blog about the two years with many pics of all steps... www.inquisitionstrupp23.deYou had to look for the "forum" there are a section called "Basteln" And there is a thread called "Bauprojekt Skysweeper/ Hydra auf Anhänger" I think the pics speaking for themselves and the most of them is possible to understand without german language.

One of the hottest day in germany this year, but I´m less in time, the deadline for the first week in field for my baby is only 7 days in the future.. Today working from 08.00 to 18.00 clock Goin to the sea for swimming is for pussies... ..but get the extension brackets ready, the support cylinders and change the rolls to carry the turret. Now I use rolls which carries a load of 190kg´s per roll. The old version carries 45kg per roll. Turret movement works now, not very fine, but works...

looks much better all deployed and ready to go, having it set up with camo netting and such really sets the scene and shows the scale too, rather than in your driveway..
what show did you display at?

Was one of the biggest german military vehicle events in germany, taking part on the german army training range in koblenz/Rhine. 500 Vehicles, mostly trucks and cars, but 10 tracked vehicles are on place to...we do a camp near my former reanact group, was a nice contrast (but I built the ballista and wall crossbow of our neightbours too..;-))
