Hi guys, I've written up a Salamanders list using models I have already. I've not painted any up yet, other than one or two, and would like some feedback on my list.
I'm not too up-to-date with the 6th Ed rules, so if there's something obvious please point it out!
HQ Vulkan He’Stan
Troops
Tactical Squad X10 Flamer, Multi-Melta
Tactical Squad X10 Flamer, Multi-Melta Drop Pod
Elites Terminator Assault Squad x5 Thunder Hammers
Legion Of The Damned x5 Power Weapon Plasma Pistol Flamer Multi-Melta
I've heard that half of the army can be held in reserve, and the other half has to be deployed. Does this work on turn one (IE Deployment) or from turn one?
I've only put one drop pod in as I have presumed that they must be on the table at the end of deployment/start of turn one. If they can deep strike in at the beginning of turn one I may adjust this.
Yep, He'stan is there as he's awesome and I think having flamer/melta death fits in great with the Salamanders, not because I want to create a power list that will own all.
The Legion of the Damned are in there too as I love the models, the rules and the background, and all the flames/skulls will compliment the Salamanders minis nicely.
I intend to use He'stan and the Tactical Squad with the Pod as Allies with my guard untill I've got the rest of these guys painted.
As mentioned, feedback (even if it's glaringly obvious) is much appreciated!

I've just been reading this in the BRB page 124
Quote - When deploying their armies, players can choose not to deploy up to half of their units (roundingup)keeping them as Reserves to arrive later
From what I understand, you HAVE to DEPLOY at least half of your forces. Unless someone else can clear this up, thats how I'm going to playing it!
Oh, and cool list, Legion of the Dammed FTW!!!

Danger Rod Ah, so they can have a pod AND deploy at the start This is cool I'll have to trim a few points somewhere to squeeze an extra pod in. Maybe trim out the special weapons on the Legion (as they are extortionate!) Yeah, and the Legion are easily the most awesome thing in the Space Marine codex. I just don't think GW will be doing Codex Legion of the Damned any time soon.... Thanks a lot dude

Drop pods are not deployed in the deployment phase, they are deployed turn 1 in "Drop pod assault".. Therefore it is not a legal list as i pointed out.. In reference to my 1.5k list... In order to have 50% of my points on the table, I will either have to loose the legion (no way), deploy my CC termies at the start (no way) or have both tac squads and He'stan on foot..... At the moment it's looking like the tac squads are going to be going walkies untill I can justify getting them a ride!
