Hello ;D As you all should know I have a vostoyan Army but I have a place in my heart for Death Korp dudes, so I bought a squad of Death Korp Grenadiers but then I thought, they didn't really fit in with my Vostoyan army (Other than the gas masks) SO!... I'm cannon balling into the deep end and sculpt some Vostroyan hats onto my Death Korp Squad. I can't sculpt and/or use green stuff to save my life, Who better to ask then The Shinobi of sculting... AshotNinja  He gave me some really good advice and different ways of going about things. So I set to work two nights ago on the G/S, after getting angry and Pi**ed off for about an Hour, I finally got the hang of it using the G/S and sculpted Vostroyan hats on a load of cadian heads. Tonight I have sculpted two hats on my Death Korp heavy flamer team. I have made the hats in proportion with the heads, as the Vostroyans are a large model size then the Death Korp dudes. I will post Pictures tomorrow because my Camera kinda broke  Hopefully you will approve  Major Downer |

Great concept Major, it is looking good.
From the photos I like the texture on the guy handling the flamer itself better, it looks more defined. It is a little difficult to tell from the photos how they will paint up though.
In terms of size I think the one on the guy holding the hose is bang on. I don't like how the rim comes down to shoulder level on the flamer guy.
I think the finished squad is going to look really good, and should fit pretty well with the rest of your Vostroyans.
OFF TOPIC: Where is that zeppelin that we were promised? Has it been lost in the warp??

The size and scale was thing I was most nervese about but if the majority of people think it's fine then I shall carey on doing what I'm doing I'll do the next update when I have painted them, I need to re-go over the model anyway. The zepplin is on Hold for the minute, as I am half way through the Preator Armoured Assault Launcher and I am waiting on parts to complete the basic zepplin-ness Thanks Major @cosmic: YEAH! I have painted the hats and actually, they look pretty sweet, I happy with the sculpting and the way they turned out over all.
The eagles will be the finishing touch to them, but I'll post pictures tomorrow any way so you can see where I'm at. I cannot wait to get started on this ten man squad ;D

The models look great and I think they will fit in very well with your army. Great conversions.
I think the base needs something. Maybe a light drybrush with a lighter grey. I think the expended shells on the base need to be dulled down as they are a bit distracting. Maybe if they were closer to the colour of the armour.
Looking great though and can't wait to see more.

...and this is the best way to do it. Just jump in....there really is no easy way to learn GS work except to do it a lot!

Second this Thats why I practiced on 10 Cadian heads before I started on the DKoK dudes, I wanted to make sure that I was getting it right. UPDATEI know they look a tad weird atm but once I've put some sexy paint on them, they should be looking up to scratch     I had already washed them before I started work on the GS, all I need to do is tidy them up before base coating tonght. I'm looking to have them done by Sunday night so I can start my new Supper heavy Transporter ;D Thanks Major Downer |
