I'm going to put together a squad of flamer vets soon and I wondered what doctrines worked well with them, if any. I imagine they'll get a chimera most of the time and I'd like to model them to reflect or indicate their doctrine.

Flamer vets are a cheaper option that work well in CQC. With their flamer weapons and the new defensive (from charge) snap fire rules, I see little use for Forward Sentries. Demolitions is for tank hunting and these guys will be infantry hunting, and given the cost, Grenadiers (although making them crucially more survivable) will probably cost as-much-as if not more than the weapon upgrades in total.
FwdSentrys is good for a 1 flamer squad of 8 lasguns, because you still need a lot of extra assault protection, as all tooled up vets do, if you are building them for assault they will attract fire as they get closer, so Grenadiers may be useful, it might be worth putting shotguns on them also as opposed to lasguns, but I think the other two will be a miss.

I agree with Optimat. If you're going to give them a doctrine, give them Grenadiers and slather them with shotguns too. They can use their Krak grenades for tank hunting if they really need to, and forward sentries just doesn't fit their role on the battlefield. That said, you could probably get away with running them with no doctrines at all.

Thanks guys, sounds like grenadiers will be quite points hungry and not that useful, so shotguns it is.
