Right now im thinking something like
4 squads, 4x melta guns
4 x power axes
Commissar Power Axe
Priest
and running Al Rahiem as the PC so they can come in from the flank. What do you guys think? is there a better configuration for an assult platoon or any really usefull trick to deploying them? I havent played an assult guard force in 6th yet so im all ears.

That's pretty much the basic template, with the Priest and El Rahemo as some of the options.
Some other common options: - Meltabombs on the Sarges/Commissar to deal with Dreads and MCs. - Flamers instead of Meltaguns. Definitely take Meltabombs in this case. - A second Commissar, because it's a bit harder to keep him safe now. Only worth it for 40-50 strong Blobs, don't bother at 30. - Ally with Space Wolves for a Wolf Priest with the Mark of the Hunter for Fearless, Outflank, Acute Senses, and Stealth. (Do note that Counter-Attack and his Oath of War only help other Space Wolves, not the Guardsmen.) You have to take some Grey Hunters, too, but that's hardly a drawback.
The problem I've run into, in my admittedly limited experience with this type of Unit, is getting the Sergeants placed right within the Unit. I always seem to have them a little too far forward or too far back, and they either get killed before striking or don't get to Attack at all until it's too late.

Figuring out where to put the sgt does seem like it might be a bit tricky. That s the main reason that I havent run this kind of unit yet in 6th. I might add melta bombs to the sgts to help out with walkers and ill take the extra commissar too.
Thanks alot!
