Ok, just an observation: noticed not a lot of vanilla Marine players use them. Why is that? They're insanely good!

Glass cannon. I, personally, loved the idea of the thunderfire cannon. As soon as you do any damage at it gets moved up the priority list, it doesnt take much to then knock it out of the game. So you have to be very careful to ensure you make your points back with it. At which point, a Predator looks a lot more attractive.

Actually, it counts as artillery now. So, its T7, 3+ save, and has two wounds. A lot more survivable now, especially if you keep it in cover.

Might have something to do with the fact that the original metal model of it is a royal pain in the ass/nightmare to assemble... I know I just about threw mine out the window because I got so frustrated with it.

My metal wasn't so bad once I discovered the lovely rubber bands I had lying around. The hardest part for me was that the actual barrel had cast bent! I did manage to bend it back with pliers but it almost snapped a few times. I had to heat it up a bit.
