- I'm Asexual
- When I look for a partner, I look for a girl that compliments me. Someone to actually share an experience with, someone that cares equally for me as I do to her.
- I can be a hypocrite
- I can't STAND tattoos or piercings

You might wanna re-read these things. They would seem to conflict. Also you look for something completely normal in partners.

Doesn't mean I want to have sex, I take NO pleasure in it and when I do engage in the act (Not on my own accord) it's for my partners benefit not mine. I just can't stand it.

Somewhat more serious than my others: I suffer from severe depression and anxiety that haven't responded to any treatment I've been able to afford. . Sorry to hear about this, dude. Does this mean that there is the appropriate medication but it's just way too expensive?

@everyone: When I sent out those PMs a couple months ago I meant ever word. I believe in you guys. Greatest people on Earth on the greatest forum on Earth. Period. It's just occurred to me that I'm pretty sure I never replied to your email, Rook, and I really apologise for that. It was very random but very touching and really made me smile. I too love this board, we have members from all walks of life. It's an amazing place. And so, I shall try to think of some confessions......... I sometimes sleep with a (clean) pair of my girlfriends knickers under my pillow, just as a little reminder of her. I was massively envious of my best friend when he joined the FAA as an Officer as he had better prospects than me, then after I realised that I was doing what I love doing and that when he split with his girlfriend I laughed my head off.

So why do you have a partner? Well certainly not for sex if that's what you are suggesting and if you are that is a pretty poor view. Please see my note 2.

Does this mean that there is the appropriate medication but it's just way too expensive? There may or may not be. Depression is chemically complex, and for most people, only a couple of the many, many medications on the market work. For some, none of them work, at least not without unacceptable side effects. I've tried half a dozen or so different things, and none have helped significantly. Then I lost Insurance Coverage when I graduated from College, and since then I've consistently made enough money that I don't qualify for Medicaid or Washington Basic (I don't think WB covers Psychiatric options anyhow), but not enough that I can actually afford to purchase Insurance without giving up "luxuries" like food. So I can no longer even afford to look for something that might work. Re: Asexuality and Partners: Partner can mean a lot more than just "Mate". Other than a fornicate buddies sort of arrangement, there's more to any relationship than just sex.

So why do you have a partner? Why do you have friends? I hope that last one wasn't directed at me, as if it was I find that quite insulting and clearly against the topics original purpose. I don't care if it was designed to be amusing or whatever it's actual intention, just thank you for insulting me on my confession. Both of you. Though I will apologize in advance if that comment was not directed at me. Sorry RT.

I was asking Hookah why he had friends, as, implicitly, the sole purpose of personal relationships is to take a trip to THE AMAZING ORGASMIA. If I had addressed a comment towards you I would've quoted you directly.

So why do you have a partner? Why do you have friends? Bloody hell you aren't half thick at times RT. I ask because I had an Asexual friend at Uni who had no interest what so ever in romantic relationships. I was just curious as to Armstrong's reasoning for having a romantic relationship despite having no sexual desire for a girl. Since for me part of the physical attraction to a girl is sexual.

Some people who are Ace are also Aromantic. Some aren't. There's no solid connection between the two scales, despite what our cultural conditioning tells us.
