Hi,
Does anyone have any experience using Google Sketch Up? I'm using it at the minute for a project I'm working on but I'm having trouble doing something on it. If anyone has any experience any help wouldbe appreciated.

I know you can raise and lower areas of an object but I'm wanting to do it with a line. So that the areas on either side of the line slopes away from the line. I hope that makes sense.

So like the shape of a roof? With a line going down the middle?

Yeah, like a roof.

Without showing pictures, you would create a cube first, then on the top surface daw your line. Then, from a chosen point on the vertical corners, would join that point to the end of the line. You should then be able to delete then unwanted section creating a slope. I'll see if I can come up with something tomorrow for you.

Or you can select the line, use the move tool, move it so you get "along blue axis" then type the measurement of how far up you want it to move, any lines attached will stay connected, making it slant in different ways.
Hope this helped.

You may both have helped.
Edit - Nope can't get it right, I think that might be down to the shape though.

I got the above to work which means I can now do this. I have the Imperial buildings and find that the panels available limit how different you can make your buildings look. With that in mind I set about designing an addon for the set. It is the same size and should fit perfectly. What I want to know is what kind of interest there is for more of these? I will be doing more for my own use but the question is 'how many other people would buy them?'

What about something like this using square-based-pyramid studs all over the door? Before getting too small/intricate though you should find out to what degree of accuracy your production company is set up to supply for your buy cost, because you might only get 2mm for plastics at a reasonable price/quantity.

I thought about it but it might limit sales of it.

Ok so I've been thinking and talking to a resin caster and I really need to think about doing these as a box set so here's my first box set. Small industrial building, contents will be 2 x vent panels, 4 x window3 panels, 1 set of stairs (1 x stair left 1 x stair right 9 x steel step 2 x steel rail), 1 x roller door, 1 x roller door open, 5 x floor3, 5 x floor4, 2 x plain wall. Now I have a question, how much would you pay for all that?

I would recommend including enough normal panels to make something out of it so people could buy it as a stand alone kit aswell as an addon. As is i wouldnt pay more than £10 but im tight
