Hey anyone who is interested. A friend of mine was at a Comic Con in California over the weekend and learned that Palladium Books is going to try and launch a miniatures battle game based on Robotech, which will eventually cover all of the series starting with the Macross Saga. Apparently the minis will be 1/285 scale, which will make a Battloid mode Veritech about 1.75" tall if I've done the math correctly. More information can be found here.To get you inspired: Awesome remastered opening for the Macross Saga.

6mm. So that's pretty much like Epic, to some extent?

I'm sure I used to watch a cartoon similar to that when I was younger.

Chem: If I've done the math properly, the minis for the various mecha will be more along the scales of Battletech minis, at least for the bigger ones such as the Veritechs, Destroids, and Zentraedi mecha/foot troops from the Macross portion. In the part of Robotech based on Genesis Climber Mospeada, though, there are some human-sized powered armor mecha, which probably would be more along the scale of Epic foot troops, and the larger mecha in the GCM- and Southern Cross-based portions of the show are smaller than the larger mecha in Macross...
Foster: How old are you? If you grew up during the 80s that's when Robotech was at its most popular. Although it did experience a brief resurgence in the late 90s, early 2000s on Cartoon Network.
Anyway, I'm psyched about this and hope it pans out...

I'm 29 Trooper, I'm sure it wasn't Robotech I'm thinking of though.

Ah. Well, many animes produced since those that were incorporated into Robotech draw on many of the same archetypes and plot elements, as the comprising animes of Robotech drew on archetypes and plot elements of previous animes (notably Mobile Suit Gundam and Space Battleship Yamato) so it's not surprising that you may have been exposed to something similar, despite being a bit on the young side to have seen Robotech when it was in its initial run...
