Right, well Paimons sisters are now pretty much finished and as such I'll be starting my other commissions. My original plan was to complete them all in the order that I got them in, however, that would take absolutely ages. And so, I'm just going to do them all, and flit between them all. To my customers: No one will be left out so please don't feel like I'm abandoning your project for someone elses, everyone will have their stuff painted, but doing it this way will prevent the tedium of painting the same things for a few weeks. I can flit between them and keep myself interested. So, lets begin......
Thirdly we have this beast......      A FW Hydra for Majordowner. Unfortunately this kit is very old, and it shows. Nothing fits right and it's 'sloppy', Major and I had to request new guns because they had literally looked like they had melted, there was no crispness at all. The barrells will be replaced with Brass tubing, the weapons are magnetized, I've added some weld seams and I've started adding more details, like the hatch handles, as well as removing some of the rivets and replacing them with crisper plastic-rod ones. There will also be a more realistic tow cable and a decent paintjob ;P Cosmic
A final messageI am truly grateful to everyone who has commissioned me, I really am. As you may have noticed I have plenty to keep me busy, but juggling all of this with 2 jobs as well will be hard. I can't believe that you're replacing the entire barrel system. They do come very droopy.
With my hydra I had serious gaps on the sides that had to be filled in with GS..

Yup, replacing them all, and it's goign well! Same, I've filled with GS and made it look like weld seams. Righto, I haz pictures!....  I made a big of a mistake and the tubing is much thinner than the original resin barrels. However, to me they look much more realistic, and once they've been bulked out a bit more they should look the dogs danglies.   Since taking these pics I've made the second barrel and they look pretty good! I've just ordered some more length of Plastic Rod, to add more detail to them, so they will only get better hopefully!  |

Oh hello! I think the rods look better, I didn't like the resin ones much as the detail sucked. I'm looking forward to the turn out of these barrels.

Really thought I had updated this thread! But guess not, so here we goooooooo........ Added basket on the rear..  Finished all four barrels and added the stowed tow cable...  Painting shall start soon, just need a few more rivets to replace. Cosmic |

yeah, I'd love to get a hydra but knew the uneven barrels of the resin would annoy the heck out of me. Those brass ones really make that model shine

Recycling at it's best Well I actually started painting this bugger a few months ago, but I never liked it, there was always something wrong with it. So this morning at half 10 I started to strip the paint and start again, and this is where I am this evening...    I'm very pleased with how the tracks came out, tried a new technique and I'm now very fond of it. I'll get some closer pictures up tomorrow once she's finished, but not bad for a days work I feel! well done! Its just missing the glass details, scorch mark by tip of flamer and decals, magnetizing the barrels is what I did with my Hydras as well, it got me start to magnetizing..
