"You have a fair point Mr Soap, it is possible that this Emptyhat has seen something horrific, or is simply insane, hence his name?"
He turns to Jovinus.
"You must know this man passing well, he is your tenant after all, is he not? So has he always appeared like this, or is this behaviour something new?"
Shostak sits a little straighter in his seat.
"As for who I trust, I admit that I don't feel I can trust any of you. Barring Emptyhat, you all seem to be solid, dependable people, and that worries me. Clearly Emptyhat is unstable in more ways than one, and I have my doubts about several others among you, but whoever our culprit is, they are clearly very shrewd in their plotting."

Indeed, shrewd is one word for it *Dave starts paceing up and down the office* Right, well, wether this mistake will prove fatal I do not know, but I don't distrust any of you, bar Emptyhat. And yes, erm, Soap was it? If the man has seen something, all the more reason to lock him in a secure room until we can get some sense out of him. At least in there he can't get at us, and we can't get at him. *Carries on to turn once more to Jovinus* If it wouldn't be asking too much, any information on this man you may have is Vital. We need to know more about him! *Looks at Shostak* You seem to have your head screwed on right, surely you can understand that locking this man away both potentially protects us and him! Out of everyone here, surley you can see reason here. And I'd like to say one last thing..... The Ganger, don't be too soon to judge him. He's an untrustworthy one, and under normal circumstances, I'd have shot him as soon as seeing him, but I'm sure that he has valuable information about what has been happening in the Underhive recently, and being frank, he could be the one to save your life. Now... Mr. Rook... You don't seem to have much to say, as neither does Paimon. Something up? Cat got your tongue? Don't think I don't trust you, but at the same time, don't think I do.

Yeah I've seen 'nid lovers before. Fought 'em before too. A couple infiltrated one of my old gangs, tearing through us like shreds, I only survived because of some freak accident, remember the quake a couple years back? yeah that knocked me out for a few hours and toppled the building trapping me in one of the rooms until an excavation team got me out. Don't know what happened to the 'nid lovers though. As for Crackerhat over there, as I said before, I seen people take it before. It's drugs alright, pretty new too, started to come into the market a little over 2 years ago. weird stuff, I saw the effects and stayed well away from it. I even heard that some who take too much *leans in conspiratorially* their bodies, they start to change. . . grow things that a body ain't meant to grow. *lounges back and takes a long pull at his Lho* Only what I heard though. *blows out smoke slowly*

He shivers again.

Paimon, who has been scratching in a note pad, looks up, "I apologize for my extended silence, but we have a lot to think about, and I've been trying to pay careful attention to everything that has been said, but it is difficult to take notes and talk at the same time. Still I'm good at taking notes, being a student, I seem to nothing else. Anyways I think that it's about time for people to show or say their lists of suspicion. Mine is as follows
Highly Suspicious Purple Dice who by his own admission was 'unconscious' while the rest of his gang died or disappeared. Emptyhat who's twitchiness might not be drugs
Less suspicious Wraelis Dave, The Master of Muppets Adkenpachi Rook Shostak Soap
I had hoped to have everyone sorted in order of how suspicious I was of them, but other than the most blatantly odd two, no one seems to be pinging my RADAR."

Subbing out his finished Lho stick, Soap lets a sigh escape while gently nodding. "That's hard to argue against Paimon. I must say I trust emptiehats rants more than that gangers calculated speeches"
"For a start, I believe that emptie has seen something, and has openly outed the ganger. Mr Dice, is the one who claimed he is on drugs and has seen them effects before. The ganger has still not surrended his weapons. Also, and this is my final point for now, the ganger has openly admitted being in contact with the nids".
Soap put the Lho stick to his lips once more, then threw it to the floor once he realised he has already stubbed it out.

"I am starting to suspect that there is something that we don't know about between Emptyhat and Mr Dice. I'm not sure who is in the right in this 'disagreement,' but Mr Hat here does seem to be trying to tell us something."
Shostak takes a final drag on his lho, this time failing to prevent himself from coughing fearfully, before stubbing it out, looking almost relieved.

Wraelis looks at the land lord with a graven expression. "Any contact with the xenos filth is suspicious in itself. More so I can't trust the gangers which I've seen plague this planet my entire life," Wraelis spat. "Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the ganger, Purple Dice, is the most likely amongst us to be the killer"
"I vote Purple Dice"

As I said.... I don't distrust any of you, not yet anyway. You can keep me out of this stupid vote. I won't have innocent blood on my hands. *Turns to Purple Dice* I'm sorry man, but theres not much I can do. Walk with the Emporer friend, make your peace now is my suggestion. *Bows his head in displeasure* Although these days, I'm not so sure that the Emporer protects. The Golden Throne preserve us all. *Dave started to rub his arms in frustration, rolling up his sleeve, now showing the Tattoo on his arm clearly. Noticing within a split second he swiftly rolls his sleeve back down* And just to clarify... If one of you is going to stab me in my sleep tonight, please make it quick.

"Dave, this is not an ideal situation, but it is our only choice. Well, no, the other choice is to sit and wait to be killed by the nid among us, so we must take the risk and hope that our suspicions lead us in the right direction".
Soap looked down at his feet before making eye contact with Dave, his tired eyes showing a little anger this time. "What makes you think you your better than us anyway? letting us to do the dirty work so you are guilt free?? Vote or don't vote, your conscience won't be any more free of guilt than the rest of us when you walk away from this. At least we have the courage to stand up and make the hard call".
The anger subsided from Soaps face and he looked at the condemned man. "Your not exactly an innocent party here anyway are you? How many innocent people have you killed, one? Two? More? Twenty??"
"At least this vote won't be a wasted one".

"So that's it," the manager commented as he watched the sun fade from view. "That is your decision?" Turning his pistol in hand and walking to the center of the group. "Restrain him." The manager demanded, Rook and Dave immediately grasping at the Gangers arms. Holding him despite his heavy resistance, kicking his feet and screaming. The man would not go quietly into the dark. Rubbing his pistol Jovinus began to utter the Emperors prayer. "Immortal Emperor have mercy upon us, miserable unworthies that we are. Master of the Galaxy, protect Your flock from the alien. Keeper of the Light, guide our darkened path with Your radiance. We are Your warriors and we are servants to Thee. We stand free from blindness of heart, free from hypocrisy, vainglory and deceits, but captive to hatred, malice and anger, to the filth, the alien, the heretic. By Thy agony and bloody sweat, by Thy Golden Throne and Thy Death, by Thy destruction and re-emergence as the god of Men, keep and strengthen us, we who fight for Thee!" His voice rose from each passing word, the final phrase screamed so the heavens themselves could hear them and at that final word, his finger indented the trigger. The autopistol barked once, its barrel smoking from the powder ignition, the ganger flinched. His body spasmed and finally laid lump within the mens hold. The manger gave them a nod and they let the body drop. Upon inspection they could see no markings, no ill effects in the blood. Nothing, nothing that could even register as irregular. "We killed an Imperial." Sighed Jovinus. * * * * * End of Day One List of Players: - Paimon - Wraelis - Dave, The Master of Muppets - Emptyhat - Adkenpachi - Rook - Shostak - Purple Dice - Imperial - Soap Results: Purple Dice was lynched on Day One. The night was cut short, the massive vibrations that shook the planet now seemed trivial and became a part of life for the citizens of Gytherio. Though, it was a nuisance that cut into the sleeping habits of the members of this particular habitation block. Once resealed cracks were torn open, the power failed allowing the darkness and the worlds usually high temperature beginning to take hold. The manager was tossed out from the side of his bed, grumbling and moaning as he pressed himself from the ground. It had been a long day and the night didn't seem any shorter either, he had already put one innocent man to the pillar. He did not want to do so again, sighing and praying for absolution, Jovinus began to don his daily tunics. Making sure to grab his torch, his pistol and keys before leaving. "Everyone wake up," he called out. Making sure those heavy sleepers, got out of their slumber. Each and everyone of his tenants eyes parting and blinking away the sand, except for Dave. Dave laid still and unresponsive, Jovinus nugged him with his foot. But still nothing, "Dave?" The manager lowered his pistol as he crouched and turned the man over slowly. The man was marked, the symbol of the cult cut into his chest. * * * * * End of Day One List of Players: - Paimon - Wraelis - Dave, The Master of Muppets - Imperial - Killed on Night One - Emptyhat - Adkenpachi - Rook - Shostak - Purple Dice - Imperial - Lynched on Day one - Soap Results: - Purple Dice was lynched on Day One. - Dave killed on Night One Day two ends: November 25th, 2012. "Two innocents dead already... One by a murderer and another at our own hands," Wraelis whispers, staring at the floor with a glazed look in his weary eyes. "This simply isn't working as it is now and we need to figure out a basis on how people have acted to know their motives," Wraelis said to the room.
Pulling himself to his feet and leaning heavily on his make shift cane he addresses the room. "We need to find some evidence based on behavior. Who would be more likely to be the killer? Someone who's spoken up? Or someone attempting to be quiet and shy as to appear vulnerable? When we voted to lynch Purple Dice was that started by a loyal citizen doing what they thought was right? Or was it the killer making a game of turning us against one another?"
"I'm not sure what could be a more condemning action of one of us. Inaction is surely in favor of the murderer, but I can't help but wonder if it was them that started the vote to lynch yesterday" Wraelis says, with a glance over at Paimon.

"So, another dead hmm? My name is Ad, short for Adrillas, ive lived on this world since birth and until recently worked in the financial district...thats about it so lets get to figuring out who this killer is and put us out of our missery tonight."

Soap stood ridged over Daves body. A single tear ran down his cheek , fighting to make a path through the dust from the quake that had disturbed the piece of night. "No, not Dave"... Pulling open the jacket of the dead man, soap reached in and pulled something out of a pocket. Lho sticks. "Anyone want to join me? Lho and a moment of silence for Dave... Before we move his body". His eyes where red, the lack of sleep, the lynching of an innocent man, and now the murder of the only person in the room he actually had any trust for.

Shostak stood frozen in the doorway.
"I'm no stranger to death, but I never thought that I would have to re - visit those memories in my twilight years. From what I know of him Dave was a good young man, and had a lot to look forward to. And Purple Dice, to have played a part in the death of an Imperial citizen, when my duty for so much of my life has been to protect such men... I could hardly bear to look at my own reflection."
Shostak sags into a sofa.
"Nevertheless, I understand that remorse will have to wait for now. You are correct Rook, we need a plan. For the moment all that we can do is look for evidence in our actions, as young Wraelis has said. But I suggest that tonight we mount a watch, with 2 men to each shift, one to watch the other, and both to watch the sleepers. That way we can try to put a stop to this killing, until we find the culprit."
He looks at each of the people in turn.
"We have done a terrible thing, and innocent men have died because of it. Only by our actions now can we redeem ourselves in the eyes of the God Emperor. Let's find this killer."

Paimon, her face tight with guilt, finally sits up, "I was the first to vote yesterday, and my vote was wrong. I am sorry that I was incorrect, but not for the vote itself. Those people who were unwilling to vote at all, or who waited to follow the crowd are just as much at fault for the death of Purple Dice as I, who cast the first vote.
"There were five votes. As the zeno-lover knows who they are, we can assume that they will try to get Imperials voted for. As such, we can assume that there is a very good chance that our quarry is amongst the five of us who voted. Soap, Wraelis, Shostak, emtyhat and me.
"Now, if I were trying to get Imperials killed by group vote, I would wait until someone else has voted incorrectly, and argued well enough that they've convinced at least one other person. A middle vote gives momentum to the lynch, without being as obvious as being the one to start the bandwagon on the hapless innocent, or the one to hammer in the final vote.
"Shostak's non-committal 'I've got a gut feeling' vote strikes me as an attempt to inflate the vote and nothing else. I'm moving him to the top of my list, and will be voting for him barring some enlightened argument from one of you fine gentlemen."

"How can you even contemplate voting to kill another of our number? Two, that's right two imperial citizens have been killed already". Soaps face was red with a mix of anger and grief. He was shaking and still holding onto Daves pack of smokes. His other arm was outstretched, pointing to the body on the floor. "Daves body is still warm! And already your pointing a bloody finger at someone to lynch!"
Taking a few deep breaths, Soap tried to compose himself. "paimon, Your making yourself out to being the guilty party here by using a blanket accusation pointing the finger at the group, of which you where appart of, while by pointing this out you hope people think your innocent. Then to top it off, blatantly pointing an unjustified finger at Shostak".
"That said, what about emptihat? He was off his head yesterday, so what do you say about him? Or did you forget it was his rantings that swade us to lynch the ganger?!"
