Looking up from his hands. Eyes red, soap spoke to the group.
"We'll, emptiehat has three votes. I just hope the crazy fool is what we suspect. I don't know how I'll live with myself if I'm wrong".

“Ha, well I’m sorry to disappoint you but, ha I’m innocent and you’ll soon see I think.”
empty glanced around the room.
“I almost regret voting to lynch Soap seeing how Paimon and Shostak bounce off each other like that. Haha, but yeah I’m not changing my vote, and no list. I could write up charges against all of you and it would just be who has the worst sales pitch, we’ve all done at least one suspicious thing I think but I’ll be in the Emperor’s embrace soon enough and I won’t have to meet that thing that Dave did, ha...ha...ha”

"That's who you're choosing? Very well," The sergeant grinned, dropping a hand from his lasguns undergrip and wrapping it around Empties shoulder. Empty gulped, the day everyone dreaded, the curse of mortality and its apparent end. Melwinii lead the man outside and shoved him violently forward, the sudden jolt was enough to throw Empty off his balance and he quickly cascaded into the pavement. Behind them the others watched, through window blinds or standing in the open doorway. The prior corpses were still burning and stinking of promethium, with McGinnis standing over them flamer strapped onto his back. Yelbow was pacing back and forth across the nature strip, lasrifle in hand and his eyes darting across the terrain looking for any of those 'insurgents'. "Get up." The sergeant spat, his spit sinking into Empties clothes. Empty complied standing to his feet, his face showing no emotion. No fear, no dread, nothing. "On the grass." The sarge ordered, "Yelbow, rig this bastard." "On it sir." The PDF trooper replied, running over to Empty and pulling a grenade from his webbing. The trooper opened Empties hand and placed the frag in his palm, before closing the digits around it. Yelbow used his thumb to slip off the pin and lifted his hand from the lever. After hearing the primer click, Yelbow retreated, turning on the spot and sprinting to safety. All the while he counted the seconds 5 .... 4 .... 3 .... 2 .... 1. The explosion had torn through flesh and clothes like paper, showering the area in a disgusting mix of blood, gore, bones, cloth and other assorted bodily fluids. Whatever Empty was, he was no more. All that could be said was the killer was still in their mists. * * * * * End of Day Two: List of Players: - Paimon - Wraelis - Dave, The Master of Muppets - Imperial - Killed on Night One - Emptyhat - Imperial - Lynched on Day two - Adkenpachi - Rook - Shostak - Purple Dice - Imperial - Lynched on Day one - Soap Results: - Purple Dice was lynched on Day One. - Dave killed on Night One - Empty lynched on Day Two Night Two: - No One Can Post in the IC thread until the Night Phase is complete. - Any players that have character cards with Night Time activities can begin to use their abilities. The night itself was quite calm and quite, a few power fluctuations here and there but overall it was tolerable. There was a rattle, the sound of muffled voices spilling through one of the hard wooden doors, the sound of shattering glass and furniture. Yelbow was on watch during that time, the man hurried to the heavy door. Keys shaking in hand, "open you Emperor damned warp ridden frakker!" Yelbow finally succeed in his attempts turning the key and hearing the lock click. Grabbing at the metal knob and turning it, rifle raised in the other hand as he threw the door open. The signs of fighting were everywhere, smashed light fixtures, broken chairs and tables. Blood slickened the walls, "Emperor....." The PDF trooper had to hold back the urge to vomit, there was Rook collapsed and crumpled on the floor. A broken chair leg grasped in a dead mans hand, used to protect himself from his assailant. Yelbow sighed and crouched next to the body, "you are with Him now." He said softly, closing the mans eyes. Melwinii walked down the long narrow hallway, each tenant room locked for the night. After the spectacle yesterday the sergeant ordered them all to return to their rooms and tasking his fireteam to patrol the corridor as the tenants slept. He did not want to risk any chances for the infected to escape but that was not its intent. "Everyone get the frak up now! Open those doors!" He barked, his men unlocking each and every, one by one. * * * * * OOC: End of Night Two: List of Players: - Paimon - Wraelis - Dave, The Master of Muppets - Imperial - Killed on Night One - Emptyhat - Imperial - Lynched on Day two - Adkenpachi - Rook - Imperial - Killed on Night Two - Shostak - Purple Dice - Imperial - Lynched on Day one - Soap Results: - Purple Dice was lynched on Day One. - Dave killed on Night One - Empty lynched on Day Two - Rook killed on Night Two Day Three: Day three ends: December 3rd, 2012. "Frak! I had kind of suspected him to tell you the truth. He was clearly onto something though," Wraelis said upon hearing the news. "Who had Rook suspected? He wasn't overly hostile to anyone besides Paimon for a moment. Hard to imagine the logic behind taking him out"

Paimon speaks up, still groggy from lack of recaf, "Interestingly enough I was suspicious of him as well. If I were to guess, I would say that the killer figured that Rook would have been hard to get lynched today, and hoped to kill him off, and try for an easier lynch.
I'll restate my list updated based on current events,
Wraelis Shostak Adkenpachi Soap
I'm almost at the point of flipping the whole thing end over end, but I'll hold off for now. I should note that, with five of us left, if there is more than one xeno, they will have a majority tomorrow, and we will have failed."

Yelbow stepped into the lounge a ceiling ventilation grate in hand. "This is how it got into the room," he stated. Glaring at the 5 remaining tenants and tossing the heavy metal onto the middle table. A loud thump followed by the creaking of wood as it held up its weight, "defensive wounds marked his entire body, that man was a true servant of the Imperium. And you butchered him, stained him with that heretical mark."
"Yelbow, shut up." Melwinii ordered, crossing his arms and looking at the group surrounding the room. Yelbow took a deep breath and didn't say another word, his head turned to follow McGinnis as he dragged the body outside to be burnt.

"No, not Rook. It seem the Thing is very calculating. While we lynch them who give the slightest suspicion, this damn beast kills off someone who is quiet, yet trust worthy".
He looked around the room. Almost glaring at each person individually.
"I think we need to look at who has been on the quiet side, and also who have been disinclined to vote. I think that we will then find that Thing".

Soap let his words settle before speaking again.
"Going by my last statement, and my gut feeling, here is my suspects list, and why".
"Adkenpachi - you have been pretty quiet I think. And when the PDF arrived you ousted Paimon straight away and tried to get her killed. Was that the plan for a free kill of an innocent who has been trying for the last few days to unite us all against finding the Thing? Trying to force the group into further disarray? You sir, are the most suspicious one here, so I believe.
Shostak - being a retired officer? Last i heard, Nobody retires from duty. So your either a lier, or a runaway. Or both.
Wraelis and Paimon. I trust you both equally. What sticks out in my mind for Wraelis was his trying to de-escalate the situation when the PDF arrived, and for Paimon, who has been trying to find this thing from the get go".
"But iv been wrong before..."

Shostak looks about stiffly, looking at Rooks corpse for a while before joining the group.
"He died a good death, which is more than many of us can still hope for."
He turns to address Soap.
"You are correct to an extent that a man cannot retire from duty, technically I could be called back into service at any time. But a man can be discharged on medical grounds, or due to advanced age, and the PDF forces of this world were very keen to get me out of the way, due to my inconvenient sense of honour, and they had two very good reasons to do so. You claim to have had dealings with the PDF before today, I assure you that the Gytherian officer classes are no less vile than the rank and file."
Shostak looks at the group as a whole.
"In order to find our killer, we have to be ruthless and calculated. This I have finally realised, despite some of you trying to tell me from the start. We need to think as they do. If I was the thing, then last night I would have targetted Paimon, who has shown herself to be something of a leader among us. The fact that you are still here Paimon leads me to suspect you. However, I realise that whoever the thing is may be counting on me suspecting Paimon in order to protect themselves. It is certainly to early to make a judgement. Yet.
I will admit, I am becoming more and more suspicious of the people I originally trusted, namely Soap. While this may merely be my nature, to take a different opinion when the obvious doesn't appear correct, but now things are getting desperate I cannot help but suspect the ones that have always made the right noises and done everything appropriately. Namely Soap, but also Wraelis.
My list of suspects so far:
- Paimon - Soap - Ad - Wraelis

"My service with the PDF was compulsery service. Too which I served with honour, completed and then returned to my dutie with the mines".
Soap, wasnt angry at Shostak for his quip about trust, instead, his concerns where else where.
"I have to admit, I believe you are correct in what you say to some extent. Yes, we need to be more ruthless and calculated. But at the same time not let simple suspicion cloud our judgement. Yes it is hard to find and keep trust with someone in an intence enviroment like this, but if they is any shread of trust left in someone, it should be kept - not warped into none existant guilt while this Thing is still among us".
"Piamon, I believe, is and has been true since the get go. Yes she has been gun-ho, maybe a little too forward about lynching votes, but she is a leader. The leader we need to get through this nightmare".
"Unfortunatly, we have been wrong with our votes so far, and yes I have been a critical part. But ask yourself, who kept quiet while we search for the Thing? Eh?! Its easy to point the finger that thoughs who try, but the guilty ones are the ones who sit back and do nothing. The guilty ones are thoughs that point the finger of blame when they have no good cause too!"
"Emptiehat and Purple Dice both died at OUR hands. And they BOTH where very suspitious, giving resion to be voted for. And now its going deeply wrong, them that do the dirty work are now being held accountable for supposed wrong doing, while the real guilty party, I believe, are thoughs that keep quiet and DO NOTHING!!".

"With how everything's been going it's hard to say who could be it. The only shred of reason I can think for Rook to be killed would be Paimon. That being said she could have just as easily killed Ad for accusing her in front of the PDF," Wraelis says.
"At the same time, Ad's been pretty quiet this whole time and was very quick to throw her under the bus. Those two are actually my main suspicions, but for now I'm mainly concerned with Ad."
|

Post by Paimon on Nov 30, 2012 21:19:13 GMT -5
"Ad's been lurking and not really contributing, thus he's apt to be the xeno. It's not bad thinking, as they say, 'it's always the quiet ones'.
"I want to believe that there is only one xeno causing us problems, and thus today isn't our last day of imperial majority. If that is the case, then I would be inclined to vote for Ad even if he weren't quite so likely to be a xeno. All we have to make build our cases is the words and actions of everyone else. Not participating is tantamount to treason.
"There was a time when my mind was sharper that I would have been able to finger the culprit by the start of the start of day two. When the potential trains of logic that people might run through and their implications were solid, and I could recognize whole patterns of thought based off of a single phrase. When my passion for the hunt was rivaled only by my thirst for the blood of the enemies of the Imperium and the Emperor. But over time even the most polished blade will lose it's shine, and the ability of juvenent treatments to stave off degeneration go only so far... Suffice to say, I trust my instincts less now than I used to. This is why I wanted more information from everyone. Multiple voices mulling over a problem can, if properly wielded, build to the correct answer much more easily than only one.
"And we've finally got a decent list of suspects from each person. Something with which to compare thoughts. My list has changed.
Adkenpachi Soap Wraelis Shostak
That is all."

"Well im sorry to hear that you all suspect me because im not waving my finger at the rest of you! Unlike all of you i dont suspect everyone, i think Soap is a stand up kind of guy...very straightforward. I think Shostak is very honest though he could be a VERY good lier but he looks trustworthy. Wraelis i have no comments on right now, and Paimon im almost certain is the Xeno! You damn PDF boys must see it too? Shes doing everything she can to get anyone killed, shes sadistic!
...Again i apologize for not wagging my finger in each and every one of your faces as that makes me suspicious. Thankyou."

"I appreciate that your list has changed, piamon, but can you tell us why? Why do you now trust them that you once never, and now don't trust thoughs you one did?"

"infact, I would be grateful if everyone did this, so we can all give our thoughts on each others trust list".

"The people at the bottom of the list are not any less suspicious, I have moved you two to the top of my list for flying under the radar. Being consistently not suspicious is suspicious all by itself. The easiest way to fly below the radar is to talk as little as possible without anyone noticing that that is what you are doing. It's not a perfect test, nothing really is, but it's one of the better ways to find someone who has got something to hide.
"It takes a few days for any patterns to be recognized, which is why such a tactic will keep the person trying it safe for the first day or so."

Paimon is definatly top of my list, then Wraelis and Soap are about equal and finally Shostak.

"Time is running short, and the day is already drawing to a close. We need to make a decision, and fast. Soap, as far as I am concerned you draw suspicion by the fact that you have been very vocal, but have never really stood out. You have made all of the right noises at the right moments, being sympathetic to other people's misfortune but never overly bothered, showing appropriate levels of remorse without being overly upset. Adken draws suspicion for being so quick to target Paimon, while remaining very quiet the rest of the time. Wraelis, you are suspicious by your being rather quiet and non - commital, and Paimon, well I have already stated my reasons for suspecting you, but I'd like to add that your continuing argument of "it's the quiet ones" does seem like an attempt to protect yourself."
Shostak looks about the reamins of the group, apprehensive at being the one to cast the first vote.
"To be quite frank I do not know who to suspect above the others. But I've given my reasons for suspecting each of you, and a decision must be made."
Vote - Paimon.

The sergeant paced back and though in front of them. Lasrifle in hand, "what do you mean you haven't come to an agreement?" He questioned, which was very much rhetorical. He shook his head, and contemplated shooting both of them. He could call it a tie breaker, but ultimately he decided against it.
"Get back to your rooms," he ordered. Pointing a single digit down the hall.
