I had played a friend of mine the other day, and I was about to outflank my Vendettas due to their Scout USR, when he pointed out to me this in the IG FAQ:
Q: What effect, if any, does the Scout special rule have on a Valkyrie or Vendetta? Will this allow it to enter play in Turn 1 by redeploying 6" onto the board? (p56)
A: It has no effect.
Now, I *think* this was in response to the second sentence, that you can no longer use the Vendetta to do a first turn strike with Vets like we used to do in 5th. However, this also now seems to indicate that we can't Outflank either.
That's a poorly worded FAQ. There is no indication that says "Remove Scout from the Valkyrie and Vendetta". If that was there, I would not have an issue. But this is a serious nerf to this wonderful vehicle.
I wonder, what if we deepstrike? Could we jink if shot at?

Yes, of course. That's always an allowable response for a Flyer that takes a Hit.
But yeah, it's a poorly worded FAQ. For what it's worth*, the French FAQ only disallows the Redeployment, not other uses of Scout (i.e. Outflanking).
*And things have gone the other way before.

I believe that the FAQ is only referring to the inability of a zooming Valkyrie to use the Scout rule to get around the restriction of flyers being unable to start the game on the board. I don't see any restrictions on it being able to Outflank, assuming that you remember to roll the D3 to determine which side it comes in at.

Yes, of course. That's always an allowable response for a Flyer that takes a Hit. One thing to remember, jink saves are taken before armour penetration rolls. I know a fair few people who take them like cover saves, after the penetration. This means that the enemy can't wait to see if they are penetrated before deciding to evade. This can let some of your fire through, as it can be deemed unlikely to do much. As for the main point, I'm not sure. Given that fliers are quite powerful, and vendettas are more so, I would say no outflanking. I am open to being convinced otherwise though.

Sorry Trickstick, but does this mean that when vehicles roll for a cover save of any kind, these saves are taken after the roll to hit but before the roll to penetrate? I've been rolling them after the penetration rolls - does it make much of a difference?

No, you roll Cover Saves after determining how many Glances/Pens you get. And Jink provides a Cover Save. But if the Vehicle being shot at is a Zooming Flyer, it has to decide whether or not to Evade (and gain Jinkies) before the Rolls to Penetrate are made. Learned that one the hard way yesterday
