I'm wondering about making a series of aerial walkways which connect a couple of skyshield landing pads, I'm considering also using a bastion as the middle piece (though my boys aptimel baby milk tubs are almost identical in size)..
I was wondering if anyone knew what level of the bastion the skyshield would match up with (if any) and any sugestions for making walk ways ..(I'm thinking aegeis defence lines as walls to match the skyshield with some sort of base / mesh underneath).
I haven't invested in any of this yet though but do have a number of plastruct girders to hand so am thinking to make it a collection of ruined skyshield pads and ruined bastion with girders jutting out etc. (I'm not fond of intact structures but love the look of ruined things - they give the battlefield a sense of history and despair, as though the battlefield is heavily contested, has already been fought over at least once and is deep in the middle of a long bitter war of attrition).
my gaming reasons behind aerial walkways / skyshields etc is that it creates a lot more cover from barrage weapons (of which I am very fond) and creates a multi level tactical element to the battlefield, increasing the number of routes a unit can take, more height for ranged weapons, more obstacles to negotiate, plus... raised walkways look cool.
