LotD is one of my favorite space marine chapters. Can't wait to see your blog.
As for the good pictures part, its all about what camera you have and where you take the pictures. Natural light is best, so try to take pictures during the day in a well lit space. Also, taking a picture on a white background is better than a dark one. Hope this helps

I considered doing A LotD army but after looking in the codex I saw that it would limit what I could field in a game.

I say sculpted - I have also been looking at the Legion recently and realised that with very thin green stuff (rolled out in a dish of water) you can let it harden and then cut the flame shapes really easily.
I'm loving all the conversion work your showing us!
30pts is daft for what you get in vanilla 'dex, even with deep strike... much liking your ideas.

Which is fine but if you can give me time to do a tester for just the painted on flames, and if you like it then it will save you sculpting some on.

The flames on the first example are superb, not sure how they're done though. We've got plent of time to perfect these though so there's no rush a the moment. It would be good if you can send one too me actually, one with the skull and hood would be good and then I can do a proper tester.

I love these guys, as you probably know ;D Please take all the points costs off your roster too, GW will do us over for stuff like that if they find it |
