Here's a nice fat rumor round-up for all of you. Of course, the one that caught my eye is that Ward is doing the codex... Reds

I'm actually getting pritty hot under the cooler about these rumours. Was thinking doing for a DA force, but I think I more than likely will now.
And if matt ward is writing the codex, for the first time I will have an unbeatable army! Muhahaha!

Pretty good collection here, too. Including a shot from White Dwarf listing Jeremy Vetock as the writer. I understand he's done some pretty solid work on Fantasy. I like the Flyer, myself, particularly the version with the Hurricane Bolters under the wings. The Termis really grab me, too, especially when built as Deathwing Knights with the fancy Power Mauls. Do not like the new Land Speeder, but I'll reserve final judgement until I see it in person. Looks like the sculptor fell asleep the night before while channel surfing back and forth between Star Wars Ep IV and a Pimp My Ride marathon Really hoping my Dark Angels are actually going to be relevant again soon, rather than just stand-ins for other Chapters.

Yeah, it's pretty much confirmed that Vetock wrote the DA codex, not Ward...

Actually I read on BoLS that it's Jeremy Vetock, not Ward. It'll be good for people to chill a while with all the Ward hatred now that we'll be getting licked by Black Knights and termies with power mauls. On the plus side power mauls are supposed to be a tactical choice VS orks, so I might be on the lookout for arms on bitz sites soon enough. Seriously tho' I hope that GW doesn't just make the DA normal marines - anything vaguely interesting again... I hope that Greenwing remains a viable option. Not everyone wants to be ravenwing or deathwing, even though it's a big part of the 1st Legion. For example waaaaaay back in the Angels of Death codex, when BA and DA were in the same book, Greenwing could take non-ravenwing bikes and land speeders. They can't anymore, unless you count them as deathwing or just use Codex: SM to represent a less divergent company.

Yeah, it's pretty much confirmed that Vetock wrote the DA codex, not Ward... That's good. Maybe I'll get it then, since I have a small DA army. The more I look at the flyer, the more I think I like it, but the more I worry it's tail is too short. Reds

Greenwing is a garbage choice right now, so horribly overcosted. I want it back, too, since I've got nearly a full battle company of regular Dark Angels. The result of starting with that Angels of Death Dex back in 2nd Ed. I'd be fine with the Bikes and Termis being special, but let my Tacticals and Assault Marines and Devs be at least halfway decent.

Probably with flyer formations this time. Remains? It needs to be returned to a viable option. Greenwing is a garbage choice right now, so horribly overcosted. Well rumours have been pointing to flakk missiles for devastator and tactical m/ls and improved plasma rules. If the cost of lascannon for devastators comes down you'll be at an advantage to people still using codex SM. Plus there's the new flyer. I wonder what scout sgt Naaman's rules will be like and if he'll offer an alternate type of scout leader to Telion.

Mostly, it just needs the Points Costs brought in line with the other Marine Dexes, and the addition of more flexible Sergeant Options. Based on the CSM Dex, I'd be kind of surprised to see Flakk Missiles in Tactical Squads (They were rumoured to be available for all MLs there, too), but we'll see. As I recall, Naaman's previous incarnation was as a CC badass. At least theoretically. It would be nice to see an option that makes Assault Scouts viable.

GW site has put up a video clip of what's to come in next white dwarf.
Why? Just why?

Well it blows. The video is a waste of time. It doesn't tell us anything, doesn't build up any excitement, and there for, is pointless!

They'll go the other way with the Wolves and give them flying furry animals the size of Valkyries. For $100 Based on the CSM Dex, I'd be kind of surprised to see Flakk Missiles in Tactical Squads (They were rumoured to be available for all MLs there, too), but we'll see. Apparently it's in the new WD battle report, according to BoLS' latest leaks from people who got the magazine early. A tactical squad with flakk missiles.

Did something change with missile launchers? I thought they always had flakk missiles.

Frag, not flakk. Hopefully if that happens they'll FAQ the Guard ML's to have flakk missiles also. Either that or release a Hydra model

I was in GW today, I merely mentioned Dark Angels (talking about DV) and the guy started talking about the new Dark Angels, about how I'll find out all about it this Saturday, and how I should hold fire on Dark Angel stuff until then. Never had that before...

Between the number of times I've seen people screw up reporting on the BatReps and the number of times I've seen them actually screw up the Rules in the BatReps themselves, I'm still not going to 100% believe it until I see it in the Dex for myself. It's not unreasonable, tho, especially since Flakk Havocs don't seem to be making that much of a dent in the Meta yet. SW: I kind of actually want the Wolves to get a giant Fenrisian Wolf as an MC. The older fluff mentions them getting as large as Rhinos. Don't really see a Flyer fitting in so well for them, but they'll probably get one anyway.

It would be nice for GW to bring stuff in from the established older fluff and make models for it, rather than just introducing new stuff out of thin air that has never been mentioned previously. Also, I'm looking at you, Thunderhawk...
