Yeah CQB is much like COD. Small maps, no vehicles, but all weapons. Im not a fan, it doesn't suit bf3. They have done a gun game mode as well, where you start wit a crap gun, and work your way up by getting kills, till you have gone through them all and win by a knife kill. Its fun, but only now and again. The armoured expansion pack was also a bit of a let down. For me I expected more vehicles, and more new types. And dont get me started on the C130. I was massively excited for this, but it's really hard to be one of the two people to use the weapons on it, and it's massively over powered. Not for comparing to real life, but for a gaming perspective. It makes the game very one sided, have the C130, win the game. Only hope you can have is having a good jet pilot, or have half a dozen people dedicated to shooting the bloody thing down. Aftermath is the best expansion. Really only thing you get here is more maps, and a cross bow (why?). The maps are quite good and offer a new challenge to the game. No scavenger mode from this expansion is rock hard! Object: find a good gun and don't get killed!

Object: find a good gun and don't get killed! the close quarters map pack was a load of crap... it just made the game feel like cod and thats not a feeling i want...contantly spawning behind you and its just a runaround fornicatefest full of retards. armoured kill was excellent, but has many problems... why have a tank destroyer if you aint gonna put a MBT in the map aswell... also i dont agree with the spectre... no one uses it anymore since the last update as the ir vision for the 155mm cannon has been removed... and it seems much easier to take down with jets firing their cannon... also the maps are quite large, which to be honest isnt a major problem for me, because i like to sit on hills and snipe and soflam, but if taking bases are your thing, it can be often a war of attrition, as the bases are too far apart to take and hold at the same time. i do agree that aftermath was a fantastic addition, and i am a big fan of the crossbow, i use it alot on metro to spot guys with the sensor bolt... a really handy thing to have in a squad. all the maps on aftermath are good too, epicentrer being the worst in my opinion, but still playable.

also id like to add my opinion of medal of honor... i got the first of the modern franshise and loved it... it was released at a good time while BFBC2 was getting boring, and before BF3 ... so all my mates and i got a copy... i quickly noticed it was 2 different games joined together... the multiplayer was just a small mapped version of BC2 and was quite fun, played if for a few months before it got boring. but the single player was a completly different game and game engine, it was nothing like the BF style multiplayer... and to me it felt like a really polished CoD single player story... it had much more options than were avaliable to multiplayer, like changing rate of fire, peeking round corners, going on tippy toes to see over walls etc... the single player for me was one of the best campains i have ever played... it had elements of many books of true accounts i have read, like the stranded seals retreat and the shot down chinooks that i have read about... and i got to play and see that stuff faithfully recreated in game form... it was excellent...
i havent however got the newer MoH game... mainly as BF3 still is fun and getting updates... so i dont have time for another shooter (and CoD bores the hell out of me) also ive heard mixed reveiws of the game too.... but you have to take any reveiws with a pinch of salt because games are always being compared to goddam CoD so no-one knows if they are actually seeing a good game anymore because they cant cope with the fact that its not exactly like CoD.

Some people don't get what battlefield is all about, and have been obsessed with cod since they first picked up a controller.
First step to battlefield is getting them to play Operation Flash Point. I own it, and have hardly played it for two reasons. First, I don't have time to learn how to play, it is rock hard! Second it is not a game. It's a military simulator which means its rock hard! It's really easy to get killed, yet it's really difficult to engage the enemy without spending a lot of time learning how to fire each weapon. Also the map is massive so it's a really slow game where nothing can happen for ages, then boom your dead!
Now you point out that cod is crap because its not realistic in the slightest. In the real world people don't just run and gun. And your not amazing at fps as you couldn't last the first mission on OFP.
So, the punk has been shown that cod is crap, and the real world is nothing like cod. So, you show them something mid way. Something that is much more realistic that Call of Duty, but more playable that Op Flash Point. The result Battlefield 3.

I love flashpoint I've got them both, and like soap says you can't just pick up and play unlike cod! Battlefield is the same it take Time to traverse the terrain! Slightly more realistic! Ie you can set up as a sniper from miles away on both flashpoint and BF and not be seen as you take the shot because your in the hills!
I personally I'm not keen on CoD anymore it's become to easy to play, so the can get a bigger audience! Why snipe someone who's in the game only 20ft away! Not much of a challenge! But on BF there's distance wind curvature of earth al sorts to take into account befor the shot!
There's deffanatly two types of shooter. Pick up and play(CoD) Tactical ish(BF)
Not saying CoD isn't tactical but the bigger mapped games are bigger picture! That's my tuppence thrown in!
Tvm massive

You can easily play bf like its cod and you can even do quite well... Until you meet a squad of 3 or 4 mates playing it how its meant to be played... I alwys try to be a team player but most people are too selfish for that so i only end up playing it when my mates are on, 2 medics me the engineer and a sniper.

That is one problem with bf. If your playing an organised team, your going to lose. Well really its not a problem. Game makers can't be expected to sort the problem of selfish people playing!
Also id like to point out that op flash point is a good military sim. Its just not pick up and play like other first person shooters!

*Is saddened by the fact that he seems to be the only one who finds CoD prohibitively difficult*
Seriously though, I cannot play CoD for the life of me. I guess I just don't have quick/accurate reflexes needed of me. Incidentally, this may also be why I suck at fighting games >.>
Funnily enough though, I got OP:Flashpoint Dragon Rising, and the game isn't that hard as long as you keep half a brain about you and used a scoped rifle (or take the time to learn to shoot the iron sight version)
Just remember to account for bullet drop, and always shoot from a position of concealment/cover (preferably both), and relocate often. And for the love of god don't urine off the helicopters.
The game can get pretty intense action-wise too, such as when you play as frontline infantry.

Haha, if i could afford to eat i would And i am a Pc gamer at heart.. Back in CS1.5 days it was 1 shot kills every time but i got sick of having to spend buckets on pc upgrades or get left behind... Xbox everyones got the same ram and processor... Its more fair. Also h4x were a big issue on pc.

The flashpoint games on the xbox were a massive let down... the first was not enough like the pc version to be good... and the second was changed to much from the first to be considered a sequal.. both games are quite rubbish... but pc original flashpoint and arma 1 and 2 were fantastic... they had many flaws... but they were still fun to play... plus with so much mods avaliable and a map editor. .. you could epend hours just making missions to fail on.

I got Dragon Rising on the PC, which does come with a mission editor too I could never play the first one, as it doesn't like my OS on either of my computers (XP and 7). I remember there's a 40k mod for flashpoint. I remember showing someone, who called heresy on the fact that the Space Marines were crawling around the battlefield (and so were the Orks XD)
