He doesn't have an axe because he killed a space wolf and took his sword as a trophy. Also Khorne doesn't care how you take skulls, he cares only that you do. So But.... Why didn't your SW have a power axe? And I know Khorne doesn't care how you take them, or indeed who the skulls are from... But an axe is always much more fun ^.^ So.. right back at yer Dave

Also a little Background on the current leader of my Host, former Coryphaus and current Lord Khealor, the shade of Khur.
Born Tol Khaelor he was inducted into the seventeenth legion as a child and was one of the original Colchisian battle brothers. He fought after wrentit in the Emperors name until the destruction of Monarchia on Khur where he and his brothers were forced to kneel in the ashes of the perfect city.
He was as lost as all his legion but he also felt a personal rage at the destruction if a city he had helped build on a world he had brought to compliance. Shunning the mercurial and increasingly distant Chsplains, his rage simmered inside him, unleashed in a torrent of lethal force as he fought in one of the legions assault companies. Eventually rising to the rank of captain and sub commander of the Chapter of the Ashen Crown.
Fighting with zeal alongside the World Eaters during Lorgar and Angron's Shadow Crusade across Ultramar, he forged a brotherhood with the World Eaters, being one if the few Word Bearers who didn't seem distant and aloof to the rough and ready warriors of the twelfth legion.
Following his Primarch and newly promoted to Chapter Master Tol Khaelor fought his way to Terra and fought before and within the Imperial Palace. Upon Horus' defeat he fell back to the Eye of Terror and the legion he knew was completely stripped down and became subservient to the distant and mercurial Dark Apostles alone.
In spite of his own misgivings, his loyalty to Lorgar was absolute and do he served the legion in any way he was commanded to by the Dark Council, serving as Coryphaus to three Dark Apostles before being assigned as Coryphaus to the newly ascended Dark Apostle Solgr.
Solgr was killed during their first battle together along with his first Acolyte. Rather than return to Sicarus a failure to be executed, Khaelor fought on, achieving the hosts objectives and leading his brothers spiritually as well as physically. Roaring passages from the book of Lorgar as he slew the enemies of the seventeenth.
Now joined by his old battle brother Krüger of the World Eaters, Khaelor has proven his growing powers and gifts from the true gods, succeeding in converting the Dark Angels Librarian Zuriel to the true faith and to become his Acolyte and Lieutenant.
Guiding his host of warriors across the galaxy in a shadow crusade, Khaelor knows he must one day return to Sicarius and that when he does, he must be ready to either be executed as a failure or ascended as a Daemon Prince of the Pantheon.

Fantastis. The fluff's a good read and the colour scheme is really slick and opaque. It has a slightly orangish feel to it which works well. I especially like the detailed doors on the rhino and etchings. BTW your HQ is a hybrid of FW Horus Heresy pattern and standard GW pattern armour right?
It's a shame you dont go for a post heresy look to them like, the months or perhaps a year following the heresy when they've still got their HH armour but have become tainted by chaos hence the spikes, additional wargear, etc... Chaos feel to them.

Yeah it's mk4 armour combined with standard GW bits. He's gonna get more spikes and trophies as he defeats enemies in the name of the gods.

So I found an opponent! WOOT! Haven't played a game of sixth yet due my recent banishment to the desolate wastes of the Staffordshire moorlands. He recently began a DA collection and as I have recently converted the dark vengeance box librarian to the worship of the True Faith, we decided on a campaign.
His ultimate objective is to kill this fallen sorcerer before he uncovers and achieves his true and terrible potential.
My ultimate objective will be to capture his Warlord, company master Treborus of the Dark Angels third company and use him in an unholy sacrifice that will help Lord Khealor raise his status and earn the favour of the Gods. Glory to the Urizen!

I'll dedicate the slaughter of his Deathwing to father Nurgle and his prophet DAVE THE PUTRESCENT!!
If the first game goes well, we'll probably do a running campaign with shifting goals and units getting permanent buffs etc.

Anytime Dave So after some discussion, my opponent and I have decided upon a running campaign starting this Sunday. With my Host having been the cause for Librarian Zuriel's fall, the Dark Angels will be looking for Lord Khealor and the fallen psyker both, to cleanse the stain on their honour. My host is being led to the cardinal world of Dajiin V, where the portents point to an artefact of great power hidden beneath the towering monuments to the corpse Emperor of mankind. The first battle will take place using purely the Dark Vengeance parts of our force so we can ease ourselves into 6th edition (haven't played a game since the dying days of 5th). In order to take Dajiin V, the forces of chaos must first silence it's guardian moon. Leading a small force to take the command instillation in a crippling Alpha Strike, Lord Khaelor did not anticipate the small garrison of Dark Angels 3rd Company stationed there. I'll let you know how it goes.

After realising that the ex-librarian, newly born Sorcerer Zuriel the Fallen was going to be a key part of my Hosts' first battles I thought I better get him ready, he is a corrupted Turmiel from the Dark Vengeance box set, he's not 100% finished but apart from some finishing touches, I'm happy.
Any thoughts?

So, played my first 6Ed game yesterday, and the result was: GLORY BE TO THE DARK GODS!
As promised, I sacrificed an enemy character to Nurgle and in the name of Dave the Putrescent.
So some key points for a quick report :
It was played using only the Dark Vengeance minis with the librarian becoming a fallen sorcerer to even the odds, whilst Seraphicus joined his Dark Angel brethren in battle.
We played the final mission from the Dark Vengeance box with the objective in the centre being the controls for the sentry moon of the planet Zalxia Quintus.
I got a nuts warlord trait that played no role during the game and he got the hunt the fallen one.
Near my table edge was a deep crater (5+ cover save) and near his deployment Zone there was a 2+ cover save ruined bunker complex thing.
I deployed my sorcerer in a squad of ten shoots cultists, my lord and his Chosen directly centre in order to bee line for the objective, my helbrute opposite his bunker thing and my ten CC cultists behind the walker.
He deployed his Ravenwing on the left, his tactical squad in a huge line right in front of me out in the open, his company master behind his tacticals and his interrogator chaplain on its own in the bunker (WTF??) and his terminators in reserve to deep strike.
So, my favourite moments from this encounter:
- my Lord and his chosen taking the objective in turn two by running and managing to avoid fire.
- my shooty cultists killing two raven wing bikers in one turn, only for the third to get killed by my Lord's plasma pistol
- My CC cultists passing their morale check for three turns despite horrendous casualties.
-His entire Tactical squad biting the dust when I blew up his building with a Multi melta shot followed by a charging helbrute
-His Terminators getting almost completely wiped out by an unlucky plasma cannon scatter. (Haha, did t have to do nothing.)
My less favourite moments:
-His Terminators shooting my chosen down to one guy on the turn they deep strike in (the dice gods abandoned me)
- His Company master reducing my Lord to one wound with his Combi Plasma before he even got into a challenge with him!
-Seraphicus taking to HP off my helbrute
And my absolute favourite moments:
Seraphicus getting power fisted to death by my helbrute, his soul gifted to Grandfather Nurgle as an offering of thanks.
His company Master getting murdered in the challenge with my Lord, in spite of him being on three wounds and me being on one (the sorcerers 'endurance' power helped too)
Going to add a broken DA masters head to my Lord's base as a record of his awesomeness. That's what you get if you fornicate with the seventeenth legion!
