i thought the same until i read the bols thread which besicly claims the information they have is a leak from an insider. They said not to be fooled by the warriors of chaos adverts (teaser trailer on GW blog for this saturdays white dwarf) as there will also be the four new flyers for the races which have none. There are even brief descriptions of them but no pics at this time.

Ok, do I asked a guy who knows a guy, who knows a guy that went to school with the person who's cousin sold a cat to the mother of a friend of a member of the design teams neighbour and they say that:
Warriors of Chaos is indeed a trick! Daemons is the book to look out for and that it will be ready by march as a dual release army book/codex hardback.
Fliers are not anything too amazing, although the Tau one apparently looks like a stingray and can be a bomber configuration to standard flier. No transport capacity.
Eldar one is probably made of rainbows and gemstones and piloted by the long dead spirit of a unicorn. I didn't ask.

I was thinking that through all of this. Also I thought they only just released a load of WoC and DoC stuff a couple of months ago. Not to mention the Chaos Space Marines. Chaos overload!
Sheesh, do some Wood Elves and Tau.

Just how they roll, get Chaos out the way first so they don't have to think about it for four-six years.

i think the ork codex will be released inline with an apoc update, mabye some sort of 4th war of armaggedon with thraka vs yarrick once more also reading a bols thread and aparently for 40k its not demons in feb its the 4 new flyers. If it looks cool enough i may invest in a new tau flyer, but rumour is its fast attack so probably a pirahna with a flying stand lool, i want a manta for £70 with all the units as an apoc release lol Maybe if we are lucky we might get some plastic Steel Legion Guardsmen to go along with the apocalypse release if they do a 4th war of Armageddon?

Cos Krieg is kooler oky!!!!!!1111one
Plastic steel legion, cadian AND catachan! God, that's ridiculous, it'd be like having individual plastic kits for space marine chapters or something. /sarcasm
Just wish the guard got as much individualisation as the space marines, after all 100 trillion individuals > one million supermen gene forged in the image of one man.

FFS after the atrocities the Ward inflicted on the Salamanders I simply cannot stand by and let this evil thrive whilst good men do nothing. I call upon the forces of Liberation to overthrow this heretic and cast him back unto the shadows from whence he cometh

What about a battle sisters do over? I'm impressed that you still have hope for that happening. Reds I'm hopeless when it comes to holding on hope for hopeless things.

Encourage more people to play guard then. GW has already given you a leg up with the 6th ed allies rules and weakening close combat.

It seems like they are so behind on codices. It must seem like a kick in the balls to the die hard fans of some of the neglected armies. And then the lack of some of the models. For example, who is going to buy a sisters of battle army when it is nearly double the price for a full squad? That said, screw you all and bring on a new Catachan codex

That said, screw you all and bring on a new Catachan codex Now that is wishful thinking hahaha Personally I think they need more Marine Codex's, the current ones don't have enough variety and only represent a small number of the many different Marine chapters available. I hope they make one for each of the 20 legions. In all serious though: does anyone know when the flyer expansion is supposed to be released?

Marvh/April schedule I believe, although I also believe that everyone needs to be burnt at the stake if they win the lottery and I don't, so I'm hardly the most stable of people to answer.

Also I stand by my typo. The flyers may well be released in the new month of Marvh.

I read somewhere the 15th or 16th for the flier book. I am praying they don't nerf the hell of the Vend/Valk into oblivion.
It would be kind of neat if they put a page in books to support your different versions of each army. IG has different worlds for each army. SM has chapters. Eldar have craft worlds. Necrons the different tomb dynasties.
For example if you took Raven Guard, you could get scout and assault bonuses. Attilian IG could get rough riders as troops and for a discount point discount. I am sure you get the idea. It would make playing your theme army all the more fun.

Then, GW decided that they were too complicated, and so they were replaced with special characters who don't quite match up to the flexibility available in the codexes of yore.

problem is we all want to have are own unique armies with loads of special rules fro are force but at the same time GW is trying to streamline the rules and gameplay of the game for the sake of playing tournaments etc.
Its like when im designing and coming up with ideas for videogames there are many things i would like to include but time and budget and complexity all factor into a decision on what to include.

It officially updates all of the flyers to 6th edition stats and rules, from what I've heard, and is also generally regarded as a blatant money grab by GW for something that they should have released as a PDF...
