Hi Guys
I cant quite decide if this is a silly thought or not.
I am wondering if instead of an aegis defence line you could use conscripts.
Get about 40 if them and stretch the unit across the board, as if I understand the rules correctly, the enemy can not shoot through my unit to get to another of my units.
And also you have a human wall that could effectively fire 80 shots at the enemy (although if stretched only some would be in range)
I dont think i would actually do this, just purely out of having to deploy so any models but do you think it could work?
I also thought you could maybe stick a blob of them behind your line stretched in amanner os that if a space marine user drops a drop pod the only place they can really out them means the consripts ar ein the way and they will soak up any gun fire or assaults?

you can.. they would give a 4+ cover save though, not block entirely.
it would work for a first turn drop pod blocking method, but beyond that the consripts can't shoot jack since they're rubbish, and as soon as they take casualties they'll run or struggle to re-group.
better to spend the points on troops that can survive a bit longer due to better Ld and can do damage by not being totally rubbish.

The conscript bubble would work against the drop pods, that's kinda the idea behind blobs in general, conscripts or otherwise. The human wall though, wouldn't be that effective. Destroyed to easily and wouldn't give the cover save an Aegis Line gives. Moveable and can score yes, just not very effective for the purpose of cover saves. However, a counts-as Aegis Line made out of slaves would be rather dark and sinister and very fluffy for any Chaos or DE players that need an Aegis Line.

The Conscripts only give you 5+ Cover.
The Aegis Line gives you 4+ Cover, and if you Go to Ground behind it, you get 2+. It's also cheaper than the Conscripts.
