After I saw that you could make DKoK form Gorgon,my dream of having death korps army became viable! Yea,I would buy some normal ones,but majority would come from gorgon sate to save big $$ which can be spent on rest of stuff for army.
Since their codex hasn't be updated as I read,but tbh. it doesn't seem so bad,you can still throw aegis in,right? Worst case scenario,you can ally them with normal IG so you can have vendetta/hydra for AA department.
Since I don't know if some tourney will allow their list,I would like to make em so I can play them as IG codex if problem arises.
What is considered to be best from their codex?
Their guardsmen platoon don't seem bad,you can't have heavy weapons in squads,but you can ally 3x heavy weapons into squad if I got it right from rules?
So from one platoon you take 3x inf squads and 3x heavy weapon squads and combine them into inf squad+heavy weapon squad,right?
Hades just seems brutally effective for 50 pts. So 2-3 into list looks like a good choice. Only 5man engi team with demo charge and melta bombs so it can go for a tank if needed.
10 man squad any good? For 50 pts you get 10 extra S3 shots from shotguns,from which only 5 will hit,and that's probably 1-2 MEQ wounds which they will save. Also,gas grenades,useful? Yea,you strike first in combat,but you are guard,you won't do much in combat,probably just die.
Mole launcher doesn't seem to be worth 20pts.
How are quad launcher and heavy mortars? They seem okay for 50pts,and don't take heavy slot. One better than other perhaps?
Grenadiers seem kinda expensive and not worth.
Quatermaster is a sweet model! If you spread his squad,you can get FNP to several squads,which could be useful?
Cyclops demolition vehicle any good? It would be easy enough to convert.
About Heavy support
Thunderer siege tank is easy enough to make,but dunno,140pts,add heavy stubber and it comes to 150. Better to take standard leman russ? Although 3x of them going to your front lines would probably be scary enough.
Bombard battery doesn't seem to be worth it.
Ordnance battery,not that bad. Worth taking, or is it better to have tanks from heavy support and use mortars for artillery task?
I am not gonna comment on super heavy tanks, because I don't know would I be able to use them in normal games,so better to leave them out.
