Working on a Marbo. I'm not a fan of the GW version so I decided to make my own. Using a mash of bits and a model found from an RPG company I think this guy will turn out pretty badass. More pics to come!

Freehand "Cod, cod, cod, cod. Cod, cod, cod, cod" around the base.

Good. Good. The official GW mini for him is horrible. I know only one person who likes it, but he doesn't even collect Catachans. Everyone else, including me, makes their own.

I agree, custom Marbo is a must. Keep the pictures coming!

I think he needs a cooler gun and a smaler blade. Except for that it looks awesome. Can't wait to see the finished model.

No! Keep the big blade, since larger blades = greater status amongst Catachans. I would do something with the pistol, though, since Marbo's Ripper pistol is a custom piece of wargear, and right now it looks like you're using a standard laspistol? For my Marbo conversion I took a bolt pistol, cut off the muzzle, and then glued the muzzle from a command squad sniper rifle on where the original muzzle had been.

What's funny is that 'lasgun' is actually the default gun that came with the model. Kinda strange coincidence considering it's not GW affiliated. It looks exactly like a lasgun. I'll figure something out. I'm not satisfied with the blasé look either

I would love to see this guy with some sort of kukri. And yes, you need to do something about the gun.

Update - Marbo has a real ripper pistol now with a scope. I'm using the links from a heavy bolter to give it a stiff ammo link look.

Was that scope once part of a flamer? Nice work btw.

Was that scope once part of a flamer? Nice work btw. Thanks! Actually the whole thing is a cut up flamer. I removed the emblems and cut the front off and threw it on top like a modified eotech. Once I green stuff it, you won't be able to see the holes in the side of it.

ohhhh yeah.... Marbo knows where you're looking. Why do you think it's bright green? He likes it...

Marbo update... slowly but surely he's being completed. Tiger stripe camo... still experimenting with it. Trying to get it just right.

I really like the kukri blade (even though I'd prefer it to be a bit short) and the gun part of his gun. The scope is a bit large and the ammo belt just looks wrong. It just looks like it's stuck on. Either remove it or let it hang down one side.
BTW, the paint job looks terrific. The beard/stubble is a very nice touch.

So this made me think that I should get Marbo and make a custom one too. I know it is not very fluffy and it might just be down right blasphemous but I was thinking about calling mine "Marrrghbo!" and making him look as Piratey as possible. Then I started looking at different pirate models to use from Reaper, that all I would have to do is change the pistol out for something that looks a little less like a musket, and maybe give him a face that looked more like a 40K figurine. I know this might not be cool for tournament play, but I am concerned about that 0%, thoughts?
Love the work you did on this guy btw Colonel!

I don't play tourneys either. I say go for it! You have to give him an eyepatch though.

Modified the ammo belt. a little green stuff and it will be good to go. I also removed the extra bits on the scope. Marbo vs Warboss

Very nice! That shrub is a bit thick for my liking but at the same time it works quite well.

Looks good! Also: I don't think it's a necro if you're bringing back your own thread.
