so my friends and i are in a healthy debate.
my platoon which is 1 troop choice I feel should be worth 1 kill point because I cant field any of the squads individually. I mean if i could take a heavy weapons team by itself i would, so why should i have to field 3 kill points before i can bring my heavy wep team?
i dunno how are you guys playing it? some of my friends play that each element of the platoon is a point and some play that the platoon is 1 selection so therefore its one point.
help!!
p.s its been a long time hello again everyone!

Each unit=1 KP regardless of how they are organized. If you're combining squads, then they count as 1 KP, if separated, then 1 KP for each.

As macknight says. Chimera are also a kill point each.

Yep. It doesn't matter how you purchase them that determines KPs, it's how they operate on the field. If they don't have to maintain Coherency, shoot at the same Targets, etc., they're separate Units, and each worth a KP.

(Becomes to lazy to open rulebook for a second) Does that mean that when squadrons of 6th ed vehicles break up into smaller units from the damage chart they count that way for KPs and first blood?

Yep. If Vehicles separate out from Squadrons due to Immobilized results, they are now separate Units and thus worth additional KPs and can count for First Blood.

Iiiiiinteresting. Also a nice balance to the benefit of getting extra units, also still a lot kinder than 5th's bailing out.

I have actually known someone to keep moving a squadron of russes over terrain near an objective, just to get an immobilised scoring unit to sit on it in the big guns mission.

A squadron of 3 vehicles is one kill point. The only way that this changes is if one becomes immobilized and is left behind by it's squadron mates, it then becomes a unit all on its own and acts independently from the original squadron.

Not I. I prefer ramming my tanks down the enemy's throat. In fact, I am working on a "right down their throat" ABG/IG hybrid list at the moment. (Free bacon for you if you get that reference.)
