hold your horses ive heard they have ruined it! apparently you have to constantly be online because of the drm and to enforce this there is a very restrictive single player experience, you are almost forced to play in a multiplayer environmen. Also AMAZON have stopped stocking the game after just a few days of it being released due to all the returns and complaints. I would seriously do some research for yourself before purchasing!

I've heard it's awful and all the servers are down?

The gameplay itself is very good, from what I've heard. Check out the Rock Paper Shotgun article about it for a bit more. The problem with the servers is really, really bad though from what I've heard, and like Doug says, Amazon has stopped selling it briefly and is giving refunds (EA can't be bothered to refund games bought through Origin though), and EA has instructed some places to stop promoting the game for the moment. Probably the fault of those duel cores.

Oh, and now a couple people (including a Maxis employee) have stepped forward and called bullsh*t on EA's claim that a lot of the game's functions are handled by servers and it would be nearly impossible to make a single player version of it. EA has yet to respond to being caught lying through their teeth.

Reds I will be searching for employment in the gaming industry at the end of this year and I have promised myself I will do my upmost not to be employed in any way by EA or its studios lol I havnt forgiven them for mass effect 3's ending yet (EA/Bioware that is)

So, apparently the CEO of EA Games resigned, but it doesn't look like it has much to do with Sim City. It appears to have more to do with EA not being able to turn a profit (See: Massive failure of two important franchises aside from Sim City, inability to penetrate F2P and mobile markets). The whole Sim City debacle appears to be icing on the crap cake.

EA's problem is they bought up too many AAA studios and they are trying to keep them afloat leaving little room for the mobile developers in their budgets, oh and they are the spawn of saitan.!

The battlefield series would just get scooped up by another company probably treyarch (waaaaaah) but I don't see FIFA being stopped anytime soon

Omfg that would kill BF!!! Treyarch need to stop existing... They ruined COD. DICE would be big enough to take on BF alone... desert combat was the best thing in battlefields history and EA didnt do it

Instead of making a new thread I'll update this one. After the failed launch of Sim City I was put off buying it. However Origin have a 50% off sale till the 17th (code: LOVE) so I bought the delux edition. Iv only played a couple hours and I'm hooked! And would defiantly recommend getting!
