Wear a plastic bag on your hand when you shake hands with Paradill... You all KNOW where they've been!

Epic in the context of 40k means that you're getting miniatures for a completely different game than what you think. It is one of the few places where the word can't be bandied around willy nilly.

Don't breathe too deeply when using dullcote
Be very careful with Stanley knifes
Don't get superglue on your carpet, it can lead to cut feet!
Buy a daylight from hobbycraft to model / paint by.
As for modelling, well, if you can imagine something, chances are, you can build it. If you see something built by someone else and you love it, then copy it! Imitation is the best form of flattery where modelles are concerned. Best bit is, you have a visual of what you are trying to emulate, plus you can ask them questions. Your result should look every bit as good!

Then scream insanely as superglue hurts - real bad. See Dog soldiers if you don't believe me.

I've done that plenty of times. Doesn't hurt any worse than any other method of dealing with a cut that I've tried.

Everyone is forgetting the most important part about what to do when you cut your finger while working on a mini... All this faffing about regarding wound treatment when you should all be focusing on: ANOINTING THE MINI WITH YOUR BLOOD SO IT WILL RECEIVE KHORNE'S BLESSING!!!
;D
Seriously, though, I know at least one other person who does this. I may or may not have learned the habit from them.

I do that. Khealor is soaked in the stuff. Good. Good. This pleases me... So there are at least three of us who engage in this glorious practice to seek the approval of the Blood God... Which leads me to ask: What are the rest of you doing?

Worshipping Slaanesh. Hence also the lack of pants. This raises the possibility for a whole other range of hobby knife injuries which I frankly do not wish to contemplate... And on that note, I officially declare that this thread has gone off the rails...<.< >.>

Super glue can become particulary problematic in those endeavors as well

People refuse to shake hands? What tools, that's not just bad sportsmanship, its bloody rude. Not everyone is ok with hand shaking Paradill. My advice is listen to what other people have to say when they are making good points, take it all on board and consider it but in the end just do it your way. That may mean listening to them, ignoring them or adapting what you got but it should satisfy you.

As opposed to handshaking, how about a brofist, or chest bump, exchange?

One more for actual Game Play: First Blood is a really big deal. It's the only VP that only one Player can score, AND it sets the tempo for the Game. Getting that first kill pretty much always means that your Opponent is playing catch-up right off the bat, and that leads to sloppy errors.
Not to mention that, as brutal as 6th Ed is, Games that are otherwise Draws don't seem terribly uncommon. I've seen a lot of Games won and lost by First Blood.
It's not just a playstyle consideration either, it's something to keep in mind from when you first start writing your List. If you've got anything fragile enough that it's likely to get blown off the table on Turn 1, make sure you've got a plan for keeping that from happening, whether it's Reserves, LoS Blockers, or whatever.
