I thought this might be fun. Essentially the goal is to tell us about a time or times you have felt embarrassed in this hobby, for example:
The first time I put together any sort of vehicle was the old rhino kit. I used so much glue I melted the detail off of most edges and caused the main part of the hull to become a lopsided mess. I remember looking back and forth from box to model and feeling a deep shame.

Probably last year when I screwed up my first attempt at building a Necron tomb spyder so badly that I actually had to bin the model. And this was entirely due to following the instructions that were provided with the kit...

Closest I've been to embarrassed was when I glued a tank to the side of my face, but I was more surprised than anything else.

I didn't shake up a can of primer nearly well enough on the very first mini I ever painted...pretty much all the details on the figure were lost in a blobby mess.
I once left an RT era rhino in my car for a few days in the summer and it melted.

It was a 2nd or 3rd edition metal space marine, a friend gave me a squad of them when I was just getting into the hobby.

Long story short, my cheek came into contact with an upside down Russ I had just glued the tracks on to while I was bending down to take a look at something outside my window that was obstructed by a tree.

Walking out of Superdrug with a bright pink plastic bag full of bottles of Nail Varnish remover........the girl at the counter gave me some funny looks to say the least......

I got another one: being beaten in public by my girlfriend who I had bullied into playing a beginner game at a store. Not only did she beat me but the several unwashed virgins staring at her breasts saw every minute of it.

Slicing my thumb in half whilst cuting a space marinr, just as some relatives who I hadn't met in ten years came through the door. The worst bit was that I had to rush back up stairs to hold a miniature together, as I had knocked the elastic bands in my panic to stop the blood...

And this was entirely due to following the instructions that were provided with the kit... NEVER THROW ANYTHING. SEND IT TO ME. Srsly that annoyed me. Send it to me >_<' It was irrevocably trashed, not worth anything at all. A complete dog's lunch. I tried to rescue it and it ended up just making things worse... Plastic was torn in the attempt. The tomb spyder instructions are crap.

And I don't think I've had anything that embarasing really. Had stupid things happen. I was a bit embarrsed last week when the bar we meet in got packed (normally its dead why we chose that night) and that was...uncomfortable lol.

There was no way the remaining parts would be able to have fit together based on what had happened, and attempts to fix it so they would have, as I mentioned previously, resulted in plastic tearing...

Two things: 1- The first kit of Cadian I ever put together (which is about the only saving grace here), I just finished putting together the models and was going back through the bits, saw what I thought was a satchel of some sort and glued it on to one of the troopers legs. Looked at it about a month later and realized it was the extra sergeant head. It wouldn't be so bad if I could pry the head off or if I didn't need to use the models still. 2- Because I had never done modeling of any type before and because I was living in a school dorm room at the time, my first 30 troopers, heavy weapon squad, and 2 tanks were all painted without primer. The black fatiques and skin colors looked fine, but their flak armor was a little off. Instead of the deep, striking blue that they were meant to be, their armor came out an odd color of purple. I never noticed how bad the color was because I had always painted at night with only a small desk light to see by. Once I moved out of the dorm and started playing with my current group, I was made aware of how bad the paint job was. Since I still havent had the time to properly strip and repaint them, my army is still known as the Gay Brigade or the Sharpie Army.

The most Embarressing moment.... When I was out down the City Centre, in West Street Live... Doing adult real life things, and a bunch of guys in GW Shirts walk in and had to recognise me as, 'that 17 year old who comes into the store ever now and then'... My Pulling powers vanished as soon as they came over Back when ID was not a problem Damn those new bouncers IDing me all the time But yeah... Warhammer cost me a Milf that night Dave Dave

I don't think I have any embarrassing moments, per se, but when I got back into the hobby a couple years back, looking back on what I thought were really badass conversions when I first started playing was pretty shameful. Of course, some of the stuff I did six months ago is pretty shameful, too, so... (Conversions! I'm still talking about conversions here!)

One time i spilt one of the old screwtop bottles over my table, chestnut ink it was so light brown colour. I got up to get some kitchen roll to clean it up and didn't see it dripping on my chair. Came back , cleaned it up and painted for half an hour before going to the city. It was only in the evening when i put on my Yammies that i saw the big brownish stain on the back of my pants. Looked like i had sharted all over myself
