Who has it? And if you don't why not? Because you really should get it.

BECAUSE IT IS FANTASTIWIN! More to the point, it's late 70s early 80s Cold War setting, and it rewards good tactical thinking, and because it's pretty. Also, RT and I play it and would be happy to give you a few games whenever you're looking for some. www.wargame-ab.com/Reds

A tempting £29.99 on Steam, what an awesome dollar to sterling conversion.

Can't warrant spending £30 on a game when it's only 2 month till we move house. Might see if I can get it for free.

I should be ok running that.
PC has a over clocking / over heating fault.

Possible solutions are, reduce the clock speed in the BIOS, replace the CPU fan or put more of the lube stuff (the name escapes me) between the CPU and Heatsink. Or buy a new PC from me.

He could also check the Beryllium heat sinks and jumpstart Farthington's Rapidity by resetting the Tachyon emission ports.
But that's an obvious solution, I'm sure he tried it already.

@ad: Yes, it is. Unlike Starcraft, it really relies heavily on tactical thinking, as well as the use of cover.
Orren and I played a few games today, the first featured an epic, point blank tank duel between a squadron of Marine M48s and a group of soviet T64s. The highlight of the second was a massive, 8-9 plane dogfight over my flank where we shot down 4 MiGs with no losses to Nato.

If you dislike the difficulties provoked by cover, tactical thought, maneuver, flanking, supply lines and the likes, then please, kill yourself.

sounds good this... I'ma big big fan of Company of Heroes so any kind of game that features cover and tactics sounds really good to me.
I saw the pic on steam a few days a go and thought it looked good then too.
Might be a while before I can buy it.. am saving up of CoH2 and just spent out more models... (I won't say what just in case there's a golden guardsman).

I wouldnt mind CoH2, my mate said on the easiest setting they invade your base before you can even build an engineer its so hard

....and I just got crushed by the #4 ranked player. Still, it was fun. CoH is much more...arcade-y than this. Check out some gameplay footage on youtube if you want to see what it's like. It's more complex than CoH, because you have more than just tanks and infantry with some light vehicles to worry about. That, and if you max out the pop cap on troops in CoH, that's about equal to a small attack force in ALB in terms of numbers. Edit: Here's a good example of gameplay footage, including some zoomed in parts. youtu.be/Z00E868BYPw?t=26m52sReds

You have a set number of units you can take into a battle. You choose these units before the game, and save them into a "Deck". You get bonuses for making decks from just one country, or one type (para, armoured, etc), that kind of thing. My USSR deck, for example, has about 70-80 tanks (T-55s, T-64s, T-72s), plus a similar number of infantry squads (Paras, marines, ATGM teams, etc), plus a few aircraft and a host of support vehicles. It's not all that different from an army list in 40k, but you have a lot more units, and you don't have most of them on the table at the start.
I really cannot endorse this game enough for RTS fans, or for people who like Cold-War era tech. It may seem a bit daunting at first, but it's quick to learn, and the community is really great. It's fantastic fun. Ask RT if you want a second opinion.
