I think what we got was a price increase. I just noticed 10 guardsmen squad is listed as 48 bucks. Which is ridiculous.

Has anyone tought if starting a Pattion type thing! About prices and so on? Cos if I was younger I wouldn't be able to start on the hobby i cant see a petition doing anything at all... the best thing to do is to have every gw customer in the world not buy anything for a 6 months and they would have to reconsider their sales plans... but more than likely they would increase prices to recover lost earnings... what needs to happen is put our money on rival skirmish games and show gw that our intrest can be brought by low cost gaming, not the super sized battles that take too long and cost too much. Ive been playing alot of necromunda for the last 3 months and i may not go back to 40k, except to play the odd game of appoc every few months just to get some play time with the EDF. Im finding that necromunda gives me all i need for modelling/painting/fluff etc, and cheaply too.

While I'm not sure the price increase is relative to the content increase, you do get more.

I would rather buy two kits I can use than one more expensive kit that gives me a box load of spare bits, spare bits are nice but then if I buy a second I have a whole load more spare bits to boot, what am I going to use a spare main gun barrel or Vulcan mega bolter on apart from custom apoc scenery or something of the like? so glad I already have 4 baneblades lol

What I'm looking forward to is the Firestorm Redoubt. It says it comes with rules to use it in regular 40K. Screw you, Heldrakes!

I'm assuming that they're going to take up your one Fortification slot, so you're not going to see them get spammed.
But I will also say that GW's screwed up the balance with Flyers badly enough that (short of major changes to a couple of Units through Amendments in the FAQs, which they seem unwilling to do) there's no way they can fix the situation with the broken flyers without screwing over the decent ones. If this brings enough counterfire to make HellDrake spam and CronAir unattractive, I'm totally OK with basically any other cost to the meta.

I've always felt that some of the best counters to flyer-heavy lists is a flyer-heavy list, simply because we get triple twinlinked lascannons in squadrons.

Yeah, but some of us also play Armies that can't do that, or can't do it well. My Nids, Space Wolves, and Dark Angels are all kind of suffering here.
Even as a Guard Player, I prefer an Infantry/Hybrid force. I don't want to have to buy and build and paint another 3-5 Vendettas to be able to hold my own.

Nids really didn't benefit from 6th Ed. I hope that their codex makes them uber-badass once more, because right now they have no AA whatsoever.

Sine the FAQ gave FMCs Skyfire while Swooping, a DakkaFlyrant can do pretty well against anything except a StormRaven, tho it needs to get behind Helldrakes or Valkyries/Vendettas. But that's it. Denying them the use of some kind of "counts as" Weapons Emplacements was a serious blow.

I'm so glad I bought most of my stuff way back.. I really don't see how this can work long term for GW.
Skirmish games are great, I have really enjoyed necromunda snd kill team games...
Its a shame that the mechanics are so clunky once you have anything more than 5 models on the table... I love my massive apoc games.. well, actually the apoc scenario is a lot pants but I do love big games with lots of models... but have yet to find the time or players willing to grind through the necessary to get a sense of conclusion.
the RTS game I played (last year) was the closest to achieving this sense of conclusion and that played out more like a long skirmish game...
